Adam Le Fondre's sixth goal of the season gave Rotherham a 1-0 win over Lincoln in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy First Round. Im glad the window is shut now so he's a least a Rotherham player until January. But if he keeps scoring like he is doing and as he did last year, I don't think we'll be able to keep hold of him long term. Ronnie Moore has put a 3 million pound price on him which seems to have kept a few teams away, but im sure if he carries on the way he is then one of the bigger teams will snatch him up.

Do you know if Rochdale had a clause in his contract, for a share of any future moving on fees?

Not sure MR BJ but no doubt they will have, they had a cluase that if he scored 50 goals for Rotherham they got more money, He's got to be getting close to that mark now, so im sure a moving on fee would have been negotiated. But a great bargin for 300k Thanks Rochdale :D

Our pleasure TM. Especially if we get a cut of 3m pounds :D

It seems BD is going to talk himself out the hot seat at the City ground. I wonder who next will take on the challenge? Martin O'Neil perhaps??

Wycombe Wanderers 1 Macclesfield Town 2thumbsup.gif

First league win of the season for the Silkmen with two cracking first half goals !

Also worth a mention in Div 1 is Rochdales 3-2 win over Walsall which sees them into 5th.

You could be playing Everton next season,Mr.bjcool.gif

Rochdale and Bournemouth both doing well. Notts aren't doing too badly after a horror start to the season. They were a bit unlucky to come away without at least a point at the Valley (1-0 loss to Charlton), but playing well's not good enough if you can't put the ball in the net.

Notts 3 - 2 Leyton Orient

Notts are now sitting in 12th spot and looking more settled, despite throwing away last week's game against Charlton.

Leyton Orient fought back well, but a brace from Lee Hughes kept Notts ahead.

Two games this week - away to Wolves in the Carling Cup on Tuesday and then to Bristol to play Rovers on Saturday.

Notts played well at Molineux on Tuesday, but were not impressed with Wolverhampton youth hospitality after the game.

No problem between Notts and Woves fans, but as the coaches moved away the local chavs decided to send them off in a crystal shower.

Not appreciated.

That type of behaviour is not welcome in todays football, no matter what the level :annoyed:

Torquay United 1 Macclesfield Town 3

Another excellent away win for Macc making up for last weeks loss at home to high flying Port Vale.

The league is very tight....Macc only 3 points off the play offs but only 2 points off a relegation place !

Still got the stud scars & a wonky knee as proof........:(

Notts County 0 - 2 Sheffield Wednesday

Having dominated in the first half, Notts threw the game away in the second and had Davies sent off.

Admittedly they've played five games in two weeks, but they managed a good win at Peterborough on Tuesday. Very inconsistent this season. Winning what they shouldn't and losing what they should.

Their Australian counterparts (Collingwood, the Magpies, black and white stripes) won the AFL Grand Final on Saturday. Good omen for the Meadow Lane boys?

Macclesfield Town 3 Oxford United 2

Macc, without 7 first team regulars, came back from 2-0 down at half time for a great result against Oxford which partially made up for last weeks 2-1 defeat at struggling Lincoln......Macc up to 13th at the moment and,for once, nearer to the play offs than the relegation places !B)

Notts County 2 - 0 Plymouth Argyle

County sitting in the middle of the table, still finding their feet in League 1. Four of their 5 wins have been against teams in the bottom seven on the table.

Predict a mid-table finish. Only 34 games to go. smile.gif

ColU 2 Notts County 1

Was there today and in all honesty I've got to say that the 1-0 half time score was more due to ColU being poor in the first half than Notts C being any better than just average - I think we had one shot on goal the entire first 45 minutes , and that greeted by an ironic cheer from part of the U's crowd. I'd like to see that goal again as well, as it seemed from where I was at the other end to be a case of U's goalkeeper, Williams, pushing the ball into his own net. Played better in the second half , hence the two goals. Around mid-table, from what other Div 1 teams I've this season, would be about right for County I think. ColU in 6th right now and might be there ,or thereabouts , come the end of the season . Depends really, of course.

For one of we smaller Clubs , a respectable number of travelling away Notts supporters it'd be fair to add.

From skysports:-

Rochdale 3 - 2 Dag & Red

Rochdale ended a poor run of form with a 3-2 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge in an entertaining clash at Spotland.

Having lost their last three games, the hosts raced into a three-goal lead and looked comfortable until Dagenham pulled a couple of goals back in the second half to set up a nervy finish.

Chris O'Grady's volley and an Anthony Elding header tested Daggers goalkeeper Tony Roberts, and it was no surprise when the deadlock was broken after 22 minutes. O'Grady played a one-two with Gary Jones and sent a low drive on target from 18 yards, the shot getting a slight nick off Scott Doe to leave Roberts wrong-footed.

Rochdale's second was a well-crafted effort, with O'Grady sending Nicky Adams away down the right flank and his first-time cross was tucked away by Elding 10 minutes before the break.

The result looked secured when Jones met O'Grady's centre to score from six yards out just before the hour. But Dagenham's fightback started when Damian Scannell pulled one back in the 64th minute after he reacted quickest when Arber's shot was charged down by Craig Dawson.

And it was game on when Danny Green's corner towards the near post was flicked into the net by Arber four minutes later but in the end Dale had done enough to earn the three points.
