Statins and the diabetes connection

I stopped using em asi felt something was wrong with em

A good friend of mine was perfectly healthy and his doctor recommended statins.  My friend foolishly attributes his good health to the medical industry and promptly came down with diabetes after going on to statins.  Not scientific enough for some but there are plenty of anecdotes out there.

This is a big problem, over prescribed statins.

If you have a low coronary artery calcium score and never had heart issues, no need for statins.

Dr. Flaming Dragon doesn't take pills, potions, lotions or injections and is still here gracing the board with infinite wisdom.  My friend is in servitude to the people in the white lab coats.

I had the same issue a few years ago in the UK, at a 'well man clinic,' where the nurse wanted to prescribe statins ("because I was over 60").

I was over weight but blood pressure, cholesterol etc numbers were fine as evidenced from my quarterly blood test results from Pattaya Clinic. I said I wanted use diet and exercise to reduce my weight and maintain/improve key numbers - and would not entertain statins until I had tried my way.

5 years later, 30 kgs lighter and I still haven't taken statins. Don't get me wrong, I am all for meds that I know will improve/save my life. When I consider that statins are the best option for that  -  I will look at taking them. Until then I will continue to believe that, despite their benefits, there is a concerted effort from big pharma and the medical profession to push statins indiscriminately.
