It seems like a win-win for both sides. The older man gets to enjoy the company of a younger woman for a while, and the young woman receives a financial reward. Both are satisfied in the end.

I go no where near women from Isaan except when I go to some bars in Phuket a few times a year when farang friends come over for short holidays, they like to go into bars like that, it is up to them but they do know the game and all the tricks the women play in such places.

I was chatting to one a few months ago, on the second night of us drinking there she told me she loved me, I did have a good laugh over that, she was after the bulge in my trousers, that is what she was after, my very very large bulge, it was my wallet.

I remember a few years ago, I met some new people from different European countries, they were married to Thai women from Isaan.

They were talking about what they had bough for their wives and the wives families and how much they gave them each month etc, the house they had paid for and had built in Isaan.

I asked them why they gave them money each month and also looked after the wife's family and they looked at me strangely and said yes, you know, that is normal.

I said it is not normal for me, my partner has her own money as she earned it while running the tourist business she had for years, they looked at me, but they did not believe me as they though the stystem they followed was the only system as they all did it, I laughed to myself and left it there.
