Covid-19: Lack of surveillance leaves UK in dark as hospital admissions rise, experts warn

"The UK’s current method of recording covid-19 cases “is not a sensible approach to managing the spread of infection,” virologists have warned. Latest data showed an uptick in the number of UK covid cases and hospital admissions that experts said was “worrying, so early in autumn.”

...

“A combination of return to work and school after the summer holidays, cooler weather—more indoor mixing in poorly ventilated spaces—and waning immunity are contributing to the increased spread of the virus,” said Lawrence Young, virologist at Warwick University. “The increased trend in cases of infection and hospitalisations, although still low, are worrying so early in the autumn period.” [emphasis  added]

...

Young warned that reduced data now collected by the UK on the virus could mean that health officials were flying blind into the winter period. “The lack of routine [covid] testing means we have no idea about the spread of SARS-CoV-2 in the general population, making it difficult to predict any future waves of infection,” he said."

Current testing predominantly focuses on hospital patients rather than community or primary care, which Young said could make it “difficult to identify and monitor outbreaks.” He added, “Relying on hospitalisations as a measure of surges in infection is not a sensible approach to managing the spread of infection and planning for pressures on the NHS.”

Your own COVID misinformation has lost you the war to vaccinate everyone.

And the more you press your case, the less people will be prepared to have vaccines.

What is the vaccination status of the hospitalised people?

I saw a sign at an Indian restaurant.

It claimed all staff were vaccinated.

If anyone wants the name of the place, let me know.

Covid vaccines saved more than 400,000 lives in England and Scotland, WHO says

The study is the most comprehensive to date in showing how effective Covid vaccines have been, scientists say

January 19, 2024

"Covid vaccines have saved more than 420,000 lives in England and Scotland, according to an analysis by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The study estimates that jabs saved 396,532 lives in England and 24,340 lives in Scotland between December 2020 and March 2023.

As such, they reduced the death toll from Covid by 70 per cent during this period, the analysis found. [emphasis added]

The research was led by the WHO but involved dozens of scientists from 32 research organisations around Europe, including the UK Health Security Agency and Public Health Scotland.

NHS kicks off flu and COVID jabs to ‘winter-proof’ vulnerable

1 October 2025

"Flu and COVID-19 vaccines kick off for all eligible people from today to help ‘winter-proof’ those most vulnerable and the NHS amid new variants circulating this year.

Vaccination teams across England are working to protect millions most at risk of getting seriously ill this winter by building immunity ahead of December and January, when hospitalisations for respiratory viruses typically rise.

It comes as data shows early signs of an increase in flu cases, and COVID-19 cases have been steadily increasing for weeks, with hospitalisations increasing by 60%.

...

Dr Amanda Doyle, National Director for Primary Care and Community Services at NHS England, said: “It’s concerning to hear flu and COVID-19 cases are already creeping up ahead of winter – but vaccinations remain our best defence against these viruses and can be lifesaving. I urge everyone eligible to come forward for their jabs as soon as they can, with easy to book appointments or drop-in sessions now available closer to home."

Bit like that tranny who made it to General in the US Women's Corp. The girls just didn't take to him. Credibility is important.

But!! This fatty (called in the most loving way) needs to speak out about nutrition.

We are nature and the cornerstone of nature, as far as human health is concerned, is what we eat, drink and breathe. See AN my topic on food for an in-depth explanation..

What we eat decides virtually everything healthwise. We need certain entities from food to ensure our bodies can do any number of things. Rejuvenate tissues and cells. Keep all our body systems in balance. Ensure our defences are in tip-top shape to fight off undesirables when they arrive. As they surely will in our modern, advanced world.

Probably the biggest thing lacking nowadays is minerals. Vitamins to a certain extent also; but we can more easily fast-track these into out bodies. Minerals are everything. They are in the earth; in nature. And we are nature. We are what we eat. The earth's minerals are in us. And they are all there for a reason.

So you thought it fitting to post a rough-looking photo of Therese Coffey, a British politician who extremely briefly served (for all of a month or two) as the country's health secretary THREE YEARS ago, and hasn't had anything to do with health since??

Oh….you have a slender photo of her?

Your Dr. Amanda Doyle is a fatty too.

Doctors should set an example for health (diet/weight/etc)….not “body positivity”

"We explained previously how COVID-19 deaths are recorded in the United Kingdom. There are two main reports:

  • Deaths within 28 days of a reported COVID-19 infection (deaths with COVID)
  • Death where COVID-19 is mentioned on the death registration (deaths from COVID)"

[The UKHSA chart info cited above, as it indicates, is from the second line data in this post, deaths where COVID is mentioned on the death registration -- deaths FROM COVID.]

England's Covid wave recedes but is replaced by flu

UKCOVIDupdate.jpg.e09bd7476a37cdd1123de4e7416c5fd7.jpg

Oct 31, 2025

"A quick update on the latest Covid situation in England. It’s mixed news. The good news is the that significant Covid wave we saw in September/October is definitely on its way down. The bad news is that my worries of an early Flu season have been realised and we are definitely seeing a Flu wave at least a month earlier than normal.

The BBC even ran an article about the early Flu season today. They quote the UK Health Security Agency as saying that at the moment cases are mostly in children and young people, but that pressures on hospitals will rise as more older adults become infected.

The best case scenario for the winter is that this flu wave will be ‘normal’-sized, just shifted a few weeks earlier, and that there won’t be another Covid wave this winter. The worst case scenario is that this is just the start of a terrible flu season, RSV joins the party in November and Covid might make a December/January comeback. While the best case scenario is certainly possible, it is worrying that Japan has already declared a major early flu epidemic and has even closed many schools to try to control the spread.

What to do

About 50% of over 75s have received their free annual Covid vaccine and about 60% of over 65s have received their free annual Flu vaccine. I really do encourage those eligible to get vaccinated! And for those who are not eligible for the free vaccine(s), the Covid vaccine is expensive privately (£80-£90, although I still intend to get it) but the Flu vaccine is a lot less (£15-£20). Many pharmacies offer a walk-in service and the Flu vaccine will last the whole flu season, so please consider it if you can afford it!"

The abovementioned BBC article on the UK's early flu season:

Health officials worried as flu season comes five weeks early

"The UK's winter flu season has begun five weeks earlier than usual, health officials are warning.

The UK Health Security Agency said cases were rising quickly among children and young people – and warned the virus would soon start to spread across older age groups.

The organisation urged people eligible for the flu vaccine to come forward to get protected. But they said it was too early to say how difficult and serious this year's flu season would be."

...

Two of the worst winter flu seasons of the past decade have been seen in the last three years, something partly attributed to the bounce-back of the virus after Covid restrictions and when immunity has been low."
