Police Region 2 have dismantled an online gambling operation in Chanthaburi, arresting the website administrator and designer known as “Mr. San,” who admitted to managing five gambling sites with Cambodian clients. The operation, conducted on October 30, 2025, uncovered evidence of extensive online gambling activity with an estimated monthly turnover exceeding six million baht.

The raid followed an order from Police Lieutenant General Chatchai Surachetphong, Commander of Provincial Police Region 2, along with Police Major General Phadungsak Raksasuk, Commander of Chanthaburi Provincial Police, and Police Colonel Akkapong Sunthornwivat, Deputy Commander. The Chanthaburi investigative division, supported by Region 2 officers, launched the operation after gathering intelligence linking Mr. San to illegal online betting networks.

Investigators tracked him to a dormitory in Mueang District, Chanthaburi, where he was allegedly running backend operations for several gambling platforms. Officers raided his room, arresting him and seizing computers, mobile phones, and digital devices believed to have been used in the illegal activities. Upon questioning, Mr. San reportedly confessed to designing and maintaining five main gambling websites: www.win168.fun, www.allnewluxxury.com, www.ultrafunspace.com, www.redhatterna.com and www.lumos878.com.

Authorities said Mr. San’s duties included managing deposit and withdrawal systems, updating website images, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring overall site functionality. He received a monthly payment of 70,000 baht, shared with another associate, to provide these services. The investigation revealed that most of his clients operated gambling businesses based in Cambodia.

Further inquiries showed that the combined financial flow across the five websites surpassed six million baht per month, highlighting the growing scale of cross-border online gambling. Police stated that the operation reflects the increasing sophistication of illegal online networks that continue to exploit digital platforms for profit.

Mr. San was charged with “organising or promoting gambling without authorisation.” The Chanthaburi police have now expanded the investigation to identify additional members of the network who may have collaborated in managing or financing the illegal operations.

Authorities also confirmed that further charges relating to money laundering may be filed, as the case involves significant financial transactions linked to unlawful online betting. The investigation aims to trace and freeze related assets as part of a broader crackdown on cross-border gambling rings.
