The Royal Thai Police (RTP) is hosting the 43rd ASEAN Chiefs of Police (ASEANAPOL) Conference in Bangkok from 3–7 November 2025, focusing on strengthening regional cooperation against transnational crimes. The meeting, themed “Collaboration in Action: Crushing Scam, Disrupting Fraud and Protecting People,” aims to enhance joint operations against online scams, fraud and emerging criminal threats across Southeast Asia.

Pol Maj Gen Jaturapat Piromkaew, Commander of the Foreign Affairs Division and Deputy Spokesperson of the RTP, announced that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will attend as an honoured guest, alongside Pol Gen Kittirat Phanphet, the National Police Chief, who will lead the Thai delegation. Around 280 senior police officers from all ten ASEAN member states, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, are expected to attend, along with dialogue partners and international law enforcement observers.

The ASEANAPOL conference serves as a central platform for collaboration among ASEAN police agencies to combat transnational crime. This year’s focus reflects growing regional concerns over cybercrime, human trafficking, online fraud networks, drug trafficking and new forms of digital threats. According to Pol Maj Gen Jaturapat, the chosen theme underscores a shared determination among ASEAN national police forces to safeguard communities both in physical and digital environments.

The five-day event will include executive committee meetings, plenary sessions, commission discussions on crime-focused topics and dialogues among heads of delegation. Bilateral meetings and working group sessions will also take place to strengthen frameworks for coordinated responses, particularly in preventing and disrupting large-scale online scams and fraud across ASEAN borders.

Pol Maj Gen Jaturapat noted that the outcomes of the 43rd ASEANAPOL Conference will directly benefit the public by enhancing the operational capacity of ASEAN law enforcement in tackling transnational criminal activity. Improved intelligence-sharing mechanisms are expected to lead to faster and more effective support for victims, especially those impacted by cybercrime and human trafficking.

As the conference progresses, delegates will work to adopt new regional frameworks and joint action plans to reinforce cross-border investigations and ensure consistent enforcement against criminal syndicates exploiting online platforms. The discussions in Bangkok are expected to set the tone for deeper ASEAN police integration in addressing complex security challenges in the years ahead.
