Pattaya authorities were called to control a chaotic scene on Jomtien Beach Road after a young woman, believed to be under the influence of drugs, ran wildly into traffic and attempted to harm herself. The incident, which took place at around 16:00. on November 10, caused panic among drivers and tourists in front of Soi 5, Jomtien, Chonburi province.

Witnesses reported that the woman, estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old, appeared disoriented and was seen running in front of moving vehicles, trying to make cars hit her. She also attempted to jump onto passing vehicles, forcing motorists to stop abruptly and creating widespread confusion and alarm in the busy tourist area.

Pattaya City municipal officers, lifeguards stationed along Jomtien Beach and nearby residents worked together to subdue and restrain the woman safely. It took several minutes before they were able to calm her down enough to escort her from the road. She was then taken to the Dong Tan substation of Pattaya City Police Station for initial handling.

During transport, the woman continued to display erratic behaviour, muttering incoherently, crying and repeatedly saying she “wanted to die” and “missed her parents.” When asked by reporters whether she had taken drugs, she tearfully admitted, “I used drugs… I’m craving… I can’t control myself.”

A lifeguard on duty told reporters that shortly before the incident, residents had seen the woman accompanied by a Thai man walking into Soi Jomtien 3, an area previously known for drug activity. Moments later, she was seen running out of the alley in a distressed state, leading directly to the chaotic incident on the main road.

Police confirmed that the woman was initially brought to the Dong Tan substation, but due to the lack of holding facilities there, she was transferred to the main Pattaya City Police Station on Soi 9, Pattaya Beach Road. She is expected to undergo questioning and receive further assessment under narcotics and mental health regulations.

Key Takeaways

• A woman in her 20s caused panic on Jomtien Road after running into traffic while under the influence of drugs.

• She admitted to recent drug use and said she “wanted to die” as authorities restrained her.

• Police transferred her to the main Pattaya City Police Station for further legal and medical procedures.

So they show her face but blurr out the faces of the dildo salesman and the other criminals?  The lady in the photo doesn't look like the drug taking type and that soi doesn't attract the types who do.  Best of luck to her and hopefully she can deal with whatever caused the problem.

Good catch. I didn't notice the tattoo on her right arm in the second photo. Are there others I missed?

Time the government got on top of the drug issues in Thailand, widely available and affordable

I live on the opposite end of Soi 5 and could hear her screaming in what sounded like drug-fueled anger. Glad the authorities arrived, she needed help.

I saw about three or four, to subdue a girl who could hardly stand up. Well done.

The report makes out that she was treated compassionately. The video shows her thrown in the back of a pick up truck like a piece of meat and with her head amongst a bunch of trash.

The girl certainly needs help, and I guess what she got was better than nothing, but it could have been much better.

I might agree with you, but I need to ask the other half of me later.

A tat on the arm and one on the leg hardly qualifies as being covered in tats
