Massive flooding has affected 17 central provinces in Thailand, with over 2.44 million rai submerged, as reported by the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA). Satellite imagery from November 11 shows significant disruption, as water depths exceed 50 cm in many locations. Residents face transportation challenges and daily life disruptions due to the high water levels.

The affected regions include Ayutthaya, Nakhon Sawan, Suphan Buri, and Pathum Thani, among others. The flooding occurs in both residential and low-lying areas, with data supplied by the Sentinel-1C satellite. This inundation requires immediate attention from disaster management officials to mitigate the impact on the populace.

GISTDA has circulated the satellite imagery and detailed analysis to pertinent authorities for comprehensive disaster management. This information assists in coordinated emergency response, relief efforts, and overall impact evaluations. Authorities and residents can access flood maps and updates through GISTDA's website and the “เช็คน้ำ” mobile app.

Looking forward, recovery and support efforts will be pivotal in the coming days as water levels are monitored closely. Relevant agencies will continue to use satellite data to inform strategies and enhance public safety. The situation necessitates continuous vigilance and action to safeguard affected communities.

Key Takeaways

  • Flooding affects 2.44 million rai across 17 provinces in Thailand.
  • Satellite data assists in coordinated emergency response efforts.
  • Residents can access flood information via GISTDA's website and app.

That probably accounts (somewhat) for the low air pollution at the moment no one can burn the fields when they are flooded.

The bright side of life.

On 14.11. I want to drive from Surin to Hua Hin. Are there any problems on this route?

There is a Surin on Phuket, but perhaps you mean Surin in Isarn.

Try checking out your route on Goole Maps looking for evidence of traffic holdups. I don't know whether Google attributes holdups by noting its cause as flooding where that is the reason. PERHAPS OTHERS WHO KNOW OF A FLOODED AREA CLOSE TO THEM CAN CHECK OUT WHETHER Google Maps identifies a flooded area.

Think about it, It is in the disaster prevention bepartments  interests not to solve this flooding problem because if they did they would all be out of a job.5555
