e-Visa for Vietnam

Couple of tips for those new to applying for visa to enter Vietnam using eVisa platform.

So fortunately it's a simple process.

1. I have obtained a few and every time process time has been 4 business days.

2. You do not show evidence of flights or booked accommodation.

For address in Vietnam you can put address of actual booked accom or random address.

3. You upload screenshot of ID page of pp and screenshot of passport type photo.

4. I obtained a single entry 30 days and cost is $25 usd. Paid in final step in application (I used debit card)

5. I prefer to apply for visa after booking flight to Vietnam. One field is "enter date" So just put date of flight into Vietnam.

6. Prior to payment there is a "check application" Make sure you do that.

A trick for beginners is name information. For first name make sure that First name and Middle name is shown. Meaning on the application it shows

First Name: JOHN WILLIAM

Last Name: SMITH

They want name on application to match name on passport.

After you submit application you receive email.

The email has a "here" Link to check progress. Hit that and it will show status "processing"

If you do not receive a follow up email asking for a correction then that means your application has been done correctly and just wait.

I made big deal of the Name field as the first one I ever did just listed First Name. No middle name.

Email notification asked me to correct application.

If I am eligible for a Visa Exemption, can I still apply for a 90-day Multiple-entry E-visa, or will the latter application possibly be denied?

Also, would I need to provide proof of a 'flight out'?

Apply for an eVisa for which country?

Folk that are entitled to visa exempt entry to Vietnam may sometimes prefer/need a Visa.

For example visa exempt is 45 days for some countries however someone may want a 90 day single or multi entry eVisa.

Yes, I can get a 45-day Visa Exemption, but would like to have 90 days available instead.

In that case apply for an eVisa 90 day multi entry.

From memory $45 usd.

You do not need to provide flight details.

Here is a tip: For entry date put date of your flight to Vietnam.

For exit date disregard any planned exit date.

The exit date you enter is 90 days from entry date.

If you try and enter longer than 90 days it corrects you and prompts to enter date within 90 max.
