A 14-year-old girl died after the motorcycle she was riding pillion on with two friends was clipped by a pickup truck and then run over by a container truck in Samut Prakan. Both the pickup and the container truck fled the scene immediately, prompting a police manhunt. The collision occurred on Sukhumvit Road near Soi KM 30 at about 21:00 on 18 November 2025.

Police from Mueang Samut Prakan Police Station and rescue workers arrived to find the victim lying in the middle lane with fatal head injuries caused by a truck wheel. Her schoolbag, phone and charger were scattered nearby, while the Honda Wave motorcycle, registration from Bangkok, was found fallen at the roadside. The container truck involved in the fatality had already left and its registration number was unknown.

CCTV footage from near the scene showed the container truck travelling in the middle lane as the motorcycle fell, before driving on without slowing. In this footage, no pickup truck was visible, despite witness reports that a pickup had clipped the motorcycle moments earlier. Police are reviewing additional cameras to confirm the sequence of events.

The 16-year-old motorcycle rider, identified only as O, told police he and two female classmates were returning from Robinson department store and heading into Soi KM 30 when a pickup truck sideswiped them. He said the impact caused the motorbike to fall, sending the victim sliding into the middle lane where the truck ran over her. A separate witness, Ms Fern, 28, reported seeing the motorcycle in the rightmost lane before it made contact with the pickup, after which the girl slid beneath the container truck.

Khoasod reported that both vehicles involved left without stopping, according to witnesses. Police are gathering footage from surrounding areas and coordinating registration checks to identify the pickup and the container truck. Officers say those responsible will face legal action once identified.

You really wanna blame a 16 girl for not yet knowing how to fully navigate this life? And which ended up dead? 😒 I think more productive would be blaming adults for creating and tolerating such system, where 16 years olds are run over by container trucks. But I guess this point of view would not give you option to point finger at "them".

Yes indeed.. I can't feel sorry for 3 on a motorbike.. And indeed the parents allow it and the RTP is doing nothing and the teachers are to blame too.. But if people don't learn it is hopeless...In my soi 2 kids 12/13yrs old racing on motorbikes.. Everybody sees it but nobody complains as one of the kids parent is a police officer... A brother of a friend from my foster kid died while speeding, no helmet but having fun. The friend of my foster kid was terrible sad and broken by this accident, but 2 weeks later I saw him on the middle of the road speeding with no helmet and no driverslicense... So I ask you how can you teach them?? My foster kid had to get a driverslicense first before he was allowed on a motorbike... I bought him the booklet with traffic rules but he did not study and so I did not let him take the exam.. But with his friend in the evening he drove a motorbike and happily he got an accident and we had to pick him up at the hospital... I asked him if he had a lot of pain but he said " no so much" and I replied with.. "it is a pity if you had a lot of pain maybe it would teach you" and he looked at me, because he knew he was wrong....But maybe I am the stupid guy...
