Does anybody live or travel to China? I was going to travel to Japan, but my Thai wife changed her mind, and she likes to go to China. Does anybody know anything about China? What are the restrictions I need a visa do I  need a visa What are the best places to visit? I am Australian, and my wife has dual citizenship ( Thai Australian )

We lived/worked there for a year.

You have to climb the wall (great wall of China), have a look at the Forbiden City (we nearly got arrested there as was on a HASH run and a couple of blokes wore tutus :), ).

The wall ends up at the sea in Badahou and you can catch a high speed train from Bejing to Badahou.

Badahou (spelling?) is where the high so and top general's have their summer homes with private army guards and private beaches. Good to look around and a huge statue of Mao.

Friends went to see the wooden warriers, they said was very impressive.

Many places to go if you have the time.

One place we wanted to go, but was booked out a year ahead, was to catch the train from Bejing to Tibet and then fly back to Bejing.

I liked Bejing, and the old parts of the city, if they haven't bulldozed them yet.

Also theirs a big fantastic tomb not far from Bejing worth seeing - where the emprors are buried.

Another adventure is to catch the train from Bejing to Russia. I didn't do it but an exciting off the beaten track adventure.

AND if you are a handsome man and go out for a walk in Bejing on your own, you will soon have a little lovely walking beside you wanting to assist you.  I had a work permit so didn't have to worry about visas for wifey and I 🙂
