Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has ordered an investigation into allegations of police position buying and selling in Provincial Police Region 4, following the submission of claimed evidence by activist Achariya Ruangrattanapong. The directive came after Achariya personally delivered documents to the prime minister on 21 November, asserting that the alleged network is linked to National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet. Anutin said on the morning of 22 November, that the matter would be examined by relevant officials and stressed that there is no need for discussions with the police chief at this stage.

The issue gained prominence when Achariya, president of the Crime Victims Assistance Club, travelled to the Police Aviation Division in Tha Raeng, Bang Khen district, to file his complaint. He stated that the documents contain evidence of the buying and selling of positions within Provincial Police Region 4. The allegations surfaced amid ongoing public scrutiny of police promotions and internal management.

Speaking at 07.50 on 22 November at Military Airport 2, Wing 6, Don Mueang, Bangkok, Anutin confirmed receipt of the complaint and reiterated that the allegations concern “buying and selling matters” that require factual verification. He said he had instructed concerned officials to review the evidence in detail. Anutin emphasised that he has not yet spoken with the national police chief because both men are occupied with their respective duties and, in his view, the issue does not require direct discussion at this point.

The allegations have prompted renewed debate over transparency in police promotions and the need for robust oversight mechanisms. Legal observers note that the case highlights recurring concerns about systemic issues within police administration. Public reaction remains cautious as the investigation proceeds, with many awaiting clarity on the scope and validity of the evidence submitted.

Naewna reported that further developments will depend on the findings of the officials assigned to review the documents. Anutin did not specify a timeline for the investigation but indicated that the process will follow standard procedures. Authorities are expected to determine next steps once the facts are fully assessed and verified.

This is comical !!!...

Is there anyone in Thailand who actually didn't know that these positions are bought ?

If we have a PM who didn't, then he's vastly under qualified !!!
