A student fatally shot another student on 25 November 2025, inside a shop in front of a prominent college in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima. The victim, a 19-year-old third-year vocational student in electrical engineering, was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead following a dispute.

 

The suspect, a 17-year-old third-year vocational student in mechanical engineering, used a .9 mm locally made handgun purchased through a popular mobile app. Police recovered CCTV footage showing the suspect, dressed in a scout uniform, outside the shop, drawing the firearm from his waistband and firing four shots, causing panic among bystanders.

 

After the shooting, the suspect fled on a motorcycle to Ban Sa Nam Sai, Pong Talong Subdistrict, approximately 50 km away. Pak Chong police coordinated with local authorities in Moo Si to track and apprehend him, recovering the firearm used in the attack.

 

Naewna reported that authorities confirmed the suspect has admitted to purchasing the gun via the app. Police are conducting further investigations into the motives behind the shooting and reviewing the backgrounds of both the victim and the suspect to determine contributing factors, before charges of brought against the suspect.
