Disability payments from the Aust DVA

Featured Replies

I've been receiving disability compensation payments from the Aust. DVA for many years on the 4 weekly payment cycle. Never ever had any hiccup.

But this morning I got an email from my Thai bank that they had just deposited a payment from the DVA. This is about 12days after the usual 4 weekly payment.

The deposit this morning is roughly15% less than half* of the last 4 weekly payment. (I realize that payents from abroad will always be subject to exchange rate fluctuations.) (* I mention this because i'm wondering if the payment this morning is a standard fortnighly payment.)

Any other Aussies getting DVA compenstion payments had and recent issues / changes with their compensation payments.

Please share.

Today, I too got an unexplained deposit and no advice as to why from DVA

Thanks for sharing.

I suspect something has gone off course with the DVA's systems to combine 2 fortnights to make the 4 weekly cycle payments.

I called the DVA, they insisted they don't answer qquestions re payments on the phone and gave me an email address to lodge a request for details:  income.support.payments#DVA.gov.au (replece the # with the @ symbol).

I got an automatic acknowlldedgement of my mail indicating 48 hrs for a reply so I guess that means Monday next week.

I'll share the response when it comes.

I have a reply from the DVA, which mentions that they have a new ayment processing system and it seeems, as suspected, they processed a fortnightly amount.

Also mentions that the next payment (due in K bank 10 De,) will also be a fortnightly payment which will bring the payments up to date.

Then should be back to 4 weekly payments.

If you would please send me your e.mail address by PM I'll scan the DVA post and send to you.

Take care

scorecard, tks once again. I follow what you're saying re the recent payment & that after the next (fortnightly) payment things should revert to 28 days. I can rest

No need for a copy of the DVA reply.

Its a shame that DVA didn't notify those effected

The 2 weekly (fortnightly) payment I was expecting to arrive in my K Bank yesterday 10 Dec 2025 to bring my compensation payments back into order didn't appear.

I've sent an email to the DVA payments team, hoping to get a reply today.

Also I've sent an email to the DVA to return my phone call, hoping that might happen today or tomorrow.

Hobart is 4 hours ahead of CM. If I don't get a call from the DVA by noon today I'll call them from here.

And I'm concerned for another reason, Christmas is coming up very soon and I need the money to ensure my family have a nice Christmas.

As soon as something happens I'll share the details here.

Take care.

I called the DVA this morning, spoke to Brendon, very keen to help. He made notes of all  the details and said he would share the details with Patrick who is apparently the head of the overseas payments team.

The above was about 30 minutes ago. Just 5 minutes ago I got an email credit advice from K Bank. A deposit from DVA had just been made (1 fortnight).

Hopefully you will get the same payment.

Take care scorecard.

I received a fortnights payment this morning (Thursday) at about 10.00am
