Well I'm glad you had a good laugh

but I suspect an anything in woodworking will actually be more useful than software engineering very shortly...due to AI being able to software engineer  much faster and cheaper

but actuall skills like woodwork ,metalwork, plumbing, plastering,

painting changing a light bulb etc will still be done by actual humans for a while yet anyway.

Meanwhile you are seemingly blind to the control system built around you.

The Analyst: The sheeple aren’t going anywhere. They like my world. They don’t want this sentimentality. They don’t want freedom or empowerment. They want to be controlled. They crave the comfort of certainty.

The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

What a load of waffle and so entertaining, keep it going, as I take breaks from writing software every hour or so to read noddy comments like this.

I use ChatGPT (A so called AI system) every day to aid me in writing code as it can do the easy noddy bits while I get on with the more difficult bits, it will never replace software engineers, it gets things wrong all the time which I have to correct but it does make a good secretary or a junior.

You will be telling me next that Autocad which replaced draftsmen has also replaced architects.

But keep on watching entertaining films and let the rest of us get on with reality.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think qualifies you to be a self made 'expert' in this field.

I also did carpentry and such jobs at the start of my work career but realised there were much more interesting and rewarding jobs and so I went to university and then into software engineering.

Do you think people can also fly because you saw a superman film. 🤣

  • Phone banking is a pain, there I was Again today waiting to pay with cash, and held up for five minutes, while a Thai kept trying to pay with her phone, I find it very annoying !....

  • So lots more  unneeded e-waste   and  expense for the customer because the banks can't keep their systems secured ?

  • The opposite I would have thought, the whole purpose is to stay secure using latest Android and iOS systems.

Once again you are mixing up scams (which of course exist) and online/mobile payments at merchants etc. So I know you won't listen but stop writing rubbish about things you just make up. Most people use a combination of cash and mobile/online payments depending on circumstances. Anyway done with you.

ROFLOL - amazing how ignorant some people are - until reality bites them on their big fat lazy butts - and then they 'understand'.  There is no way anyone can send me a link, SMS, message to my cash card, that if I accidently click on will result in some/all of my money disappearing after they gain the details of my account PIN etc etc. There is no way anyone can access my cash or card, and then drain my bank account. They can steal my cash I am carrying, but nothing more.   If they steal my card they need the PIN and every ATM has a camera, plus many nearby. Phones are so much easier - hence $1.3 Billion last year - estimated because many people are embarrassed and say nothing.

Did you know if your phone is stolen/scanned, or someone phones the carrier and gets an eSIM etc., they can obtain all the passwords and details in your phone. You are carrying around a device that has access to your bank account but unlike a card it is extremely visible, easily lost or stolen, and is inherently unsecure - because it is a phone!  It was not designed to be safe and secure (like a card). It is a phone.

And in a 3rd world country things are much much worse - both in terms of IT management and security, and in enforcement and policing if anything goes wrong.  As the Thais say - Up To You.

Sensible - anyone paying with an electronic device (especially a phone) to a massage person in a knocked together shop which was not there 3 months ago and might not be there next week, is taking a big risk. And the people that do that and take that risk, do so all the time - they think it is 'cool' and 'modern' to use their phone to pay for things - until that one day when reality comes a calling.

It's not me who claims to be an expert and have degrees from prestigious universities is it ??

Anyway I don't need a fancy education or bits of paper to see what is going on all around me..just look at what is happening  massive push for digital ID  and digital currencies,

just today in the news  police forces in the UK  roll out facial recognition in every town and city..

"It's not me who claims to be an expert and have degrees from prestigious universities is it ??"

Well that is because you can't as it is not true.

I can not be bothered to read your sci-fy version links of reality.

"Police as robots", I see you have been watching AI films again, they are not real.

A simple version of real AI is probably one hundred years off yet, never mind getting to the stage with full AI robots.

Take note when soon a lot of so called AI companies will collapse and cause a stir on the stock market not unlike the IT bubble crash around the year 2000, too much money invested is chasing too little returns.

We have simulated AI at the moment but most people do not seem to understand what current 'AI' is, it is advanced machine learning algorithms.

The current very simple robots are simulators, they are not real.

You said, "Anyway I don't need a fancy education or bits of paper to see what is going on all around me..."

Right so the next time you are ill or need an operation you will seek out someone who is not a qualified medical doctor and instead call a plumber to fix you up. 😆

Face recognition, great, bring it on, id card, a great idea, there are far too many people scrounging for free in the UK.

Digital money you said, it has been digital for decades, when a bank make billions of trasactsion a year it is digital, they do not send a van around with millions of pounds in notes in the back. So funny.

When we pay by credit card does a bloke have to take £250 for example in cash to the premises of the suppliers or is it done digitally?

The only reason I have been to a bank in decades is when I have to go to BKK bank near my house to get a letter to extend my old bloke annual visa.

But none of this will mean anything to you, you will then just point to some other noddy source of conspiracy without knowing it is all nonsense.

Right back to writing my iPhone apps now after my short break, I do use ChatGPT (a pseudo AI system) as an aid as it can do the boring document wring stuff for me while I do the interesting bits.

Before you refer to your previous comments, so called AI will not replace software engineers like me, I did not ask a plumber or carpenter as you suggested earlier though so therefore I could be wrong. 🤣
