Airports of Thailand (AOT) saw air travel revenue increase by 1.12% to 68.59 billion baht for the fiscal year 2025, reflecting continued recovery. The fiscal year's growth, from October 2024 to September 2025, was bolstered by increases in passenger volumes and service charges.

In-depth, aeronautical operations contributed 33.05 billion baht, a 6.6% rise driven by a 6.92% increase in passenger service charges. Passenger volume across AOT’s airports, including Suvarnabhumi, grew by 5.61%. Total flight movements increased by 7.56%, leading to a 4.93% rise in airport service fees.

Non-aeronautical revenue dropped by 6.89% to 33.63 billion baht, affected by a 7.65% decline in concession revenue and a 16.73% decrease in rental income. Prior year figures were influenced by tax adjustments from tenant-related collections.

Overall expenses hit 2.20 billion baht, up 5.43%, due to increased maintenance costs, depreciation, and employee benefits. Despite this, AOT's financial costs and income tax expenses decreased. AOT reported a net profit of 18.13 billion baht.

The six AOT airports processed 788,095 flights, a 7.56% rise, including 444,944 international and 343,151 domestic flights. Passenger numbers rose to 125,989,505, with international travelers making up 76.64 million. Suvarnabhumi Airport handled over 62 million passengers, further indicating recovery.

AOT President, Paweena Jariyathitipong, confirmed that this growth aligns with efforts to elevate airport capacity and service efficiency. Key reforms include upgrading Suvarnabhumi's terminal operations with a focus on technology to enhance passenger flow.

Significant enhancements involve biometric processing, expanded auto channels, and an emphasis on hospitality. Suvarnabhumi has increased biometric enrolment for departing passengers to improve the processing experience, reported Bangkok Post.

Key Takeaways

  • AOT's revenue rose by 1.12% to 68.59 billion baht in fiscal 2025.
  • Passenger volume increased by 5.61%, supporting service charge growth.
  • Suvarnabhumi Airport emphasized biometric upgrades to boost efficiency.

if you raise the charges, you will get more of course... but why constantly writing that the numbers are down even more and more year after year??? And suddenly the passenger numbers are rising... how long??

Passengers, including tourists, travelling between Thailand and Cambodia whilst land borders are closed?

From my experience, flights between Siem Reap and Bangkok DMK/BKK are well patronised.

This is something you see as an Analyst a lot.  You can make cherry picked parts of data support almost any agenda you want.

Best to look at Year over Year volume in my opinion.  If you look at YOY 2023 122 million, 2024 140 million, 2025 projections are between 150 - 165 million.

What they do sometimes is compare one month in 2024 say April 11.5 million with another month say May 10.8 million and say volume is down -6.48% which is true but almost every year volume may drop for these months.

More concerning is the miraculous Baht is again showing amazing strength against foreign currencies.

You want more trade but when it cost more to buy from one country vs another don't be surprised when export volume drops.  Then they complain about taxes are down, etc.

A lot of truth there BB
