Had SSD installed about 4 years ago (boot up time dropped from over 3 minutes to just 30 seconds). Will purchase a new laptop soon, can't do it now though. Only want to get another 8-10 months out of this one, so OEM replacement not required.

You can even install another SSD or HDD in it, if it has a CD drive you don't use or need, using a very cheap caddy... I only posted that as info for readers who didn't know.....🤗

December 7, 2025Dec 7 It's not a technical issue nor even a difficult job. Unless you have a problem with your digits, you can just do it yourself in a few minutes, rather than needing to lug it across town and back.
December 7, 2025Dec 7 I really would not trust those chop shop stalls all over MBK and similar with those ladies highly on makeup, trying to woo the customer. Go to the regular store like Banana IT at Central Mall, pay the price but at least you will have less chances in having the cheap chinese imitation battrey to explode.
December 27, 2025Dec 27 Author Took a day off following heart surgery to lug the laptop over to Fortune City. Found what appeared to be a respectable repair shop on the fourth floor, replaced battery and 15" screen for <5000 baht. Old battery was ganz dick and geschwollen, about 2cm thick.
