Weed likely to be blamed for this - lol.

Negative. He'd be in his hotel room eating donuts and Snickers bars.

See the local pharmacies specials.

Yeah, that'll be a recreational pharmaceutical episode... muppet. Although, finally Norway gets on the scoreboard and not a Russian or Brit for a change.

I see blatant racism is still common and openly welcomed on this blog.

It is even encouraged I see according to the numerous positive feedback such dim commentators attract.

This guy’s had a major psychotic episode and now the Thai medical system has to deal with it. They should be so lucky. I hope he’s got insurance to foot the bill.
Another “ting tong farang” causing trouble and doing nothing for the reputation of quality tourists coming to the country.

Another foreigner with mental health issues.

Poor Thailand

Another example of allowing cannabis shops on every corner with no real regulation of grades or strength and no obligatory L Plates for newbies …I tried it last year for the first time in my 75 years and I thought someone was going to kill me !

He's obviously got serious mental health issues.

Weed doesn't cause this psychotic behavior.

Weed is your conclusion? Weed usually makes you passive. How about more likely he was,"pissed as a fa.rt" , as we say in Australia?

We get one or two foreigners doing something weird every week. I wonder if they have the same problems with visitors in America and Europe?

Good question….

Police in Bangkok arrested a 33-year-old Norwegian man after he allegedly assaulted two people and attempted to steal a tuk-tuk and a bicycle in the Sukhumvit area, causing a major chase on 5 December. The suspect, identified as Jørgen Notland, was detained near the Nikko Hotel on Thong Lor Road after officers from Thong Lor Police Station surrounded him. Even after being placed in a holding cell, he remained agitated and injured himself by headbutting the bars.

Officers received an alert around noon reporting an assault near the entrance of Sukhumvit Soi 25. At the scene they met the first victim, Wasan, who said the foreign suspect had approached him while he was driving his tuk-tuk, pretended to ask for directions, then pushed him off the vehicle. Wasan managed to pull the keys out as the suspect attempted to drive away, prompting the man to abandon the tuk-tuk and flee on foot.

The suspect then ran along Sukhumvit Road, where he encountered the second victim, Sunee, near Soi 43. She was knocked off her bicycle and injured when the suspect blocked her path before taking her red bicycle and riding off towards Thong Lor. Police patrols quickly tracked the man and found him outside the Nikko Bangkok Hotel, where he continued trying to evade arrest until officers restrained him using force and handcuffs due to his resistance.

Both victims later confirmed he was the attacker. Officers suspect the man may be suffering from a mental health condition, based on his behaviour during the chase and at the station. He has been charged with “attempted robbery causing physical or mental harm” and “robbery causing physical or mental harm,” with the bicycle seized as evidence.

Daily News reported that the suspect was handed over to investigators for further processing and legal action. Police reported that he became violent again in custody, repeatedly headbutting the cell bars and injuring himself. Further assessment of his condition is expected as the case proceeds.

Did he escape a mental institution in Norway and jump on a plane to Thailand?  What an absolute nutcase! A few months in Bangkok Hilton should do him some good!

The obvious surgical solution to Mr Notland's problems, as well as the other unfortunates who go off the rails in the LOS.

I suggest the video is shown on all airlines flying to Thailand, just after the obligatory safety video prior take-off.

Not serious. I was referring back to an earlier posting.

Seems to me the police totally overreacted...lets hope theyre not becoming like the dumb US cops who cause more trouble than they prevent.

Farang stealing a Tuk-Tuk in Bangkok is incredibly smart 🤪

Hardly stealing though was it .

Could be down to alcohol. It happened to me twice, one moment the drinks were sliding down, I was feeling full of the joys of spring and everyone was my friend. Then, as though a switch had been flipped, I turned into a raving lunatic. The last time cost me quite a lot of money to be let out of jail. Many times in my life I've been as drunk as a skunk but always remained amicable, so I can't figure what happened on these two occasions. As I'm normally a sensible, easy going type, this shocked me and for many years now I've been drinking in moderation. Now that I'm in my eighties, I'm hardly likely to repeat it.

Correct - it was 'attempted' theft of the Tuk-Tuk and theft of a bicycle....

So... how do you 'want' the police to react if someone tries to steel something of yours ? - maybe your motorcycle or your car ?

...  " Ohhhh... don't worry, he was just a bit drunk... heres your car back.. "   :whistling:

Sounds like a girlfriend I used to have. One minute just fine, then like someone flipped a switch, crazy. She was a lot of fun,
