Police have arrested a 35-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing and burning a victim in Sakon Nakhon, bringing an end to a multi-provincial manhunt. The suspect, Nichthawan, was detained on 5 December 2025 near Khlong Phadung Krung Kasem close to Hua Lamphong Railway Station in Bangkok. Officers found a 25-centimetre knife at his waist and he later confirmed he was the person named in an active arrest warrant.

The case began when residents discovered a burned body in roadside scrubland along the Phang Khon–Wanon Niwat road in Sriwichai subdistrict, Wanon Niwat district, Sakon Nakhon. The victim was later identified as Sithidon, known as “Jae Sithi”, a 46-year-old LGBTQ resident of Bueng Kan. Police from Sriwichai Police Station gathered evidence that led to a court warrant issued on 29 November 2025 by Sawang Daen Din Provincial Court for murder and unlawful weapons possession.

According to investigators, Nichthawan had recently completed a 13-year sentence for murder and robbery and had been out of prison for only five months. The arrest team, led by officers from Metropolitan Police Bureau and Pathumwan Police Station, acted after receiving information from Investigation Division 4 that the suspect was hiding near the canal.

When approached, the suspect reportedly cooperated and admitted to being the individual wanted under warrant number 241/2568. Officers seized the knife and informed him of the offence of carrying a weapon in public without reasonable cause. Police confirmed this was the first time he had been taken into custody for the latest murder case.

Khoasod reported that authorities have transferred the suspect to investigators to proceed with legal action. Officers stated that all suspect rights were explained at the time of arrest. The case will now move forward under the supervision of the Pathumwan Police Station investigative team.
