Nutritional supplements...for real

Featured Replies

I've been a big supplements guy my whole life. Recently I ordered Berberine (for blood sugar regulation) from Shopee.

It came labeled as Coolkin with an address in Littleton CO "the United States". However, Walmart list a storefront for Coolkin Health (with no products) but give an address and phone number in China: hunanshengxiangtanshiyuhuquhelingzhenhelingluxiangtan, HN 411100, CN.

The bottle states "Made in USA" complete with flag but this must be bogus.

Before you call me a sucker to my face, has anybody had any experience with Coolkin or are these fake products?

Only started after retirement, maybe last 15 ish years, as aging, and not eating nearly as much as I used to, especially fruits & veggies.

Eat pretty good, healthier options I think, than in the past, as don't really burn off any excesses like before.

Minor supplementing, less than RDA, mostly from 'Now Food' from iHerb:

Multivitamin (half to fill in the blanks)

Vit C  (>RDA)

Creatine

CoQ10

Magnesium (citrate, no issues)

Most YT docs, med folks agree with those, especially for us mature folks.  Along with my own research.   Don't buy into all the rest of the 'marketing' on the internet.  Too much silliness in some of the BS.   Vit D for instance ... go outside and take a 15 minute walk FFS.   Electrolytes are another, like people don't get enough in their diets, unless doing intense workouts, and that's debatable.

Most don't need much at all, just get you blood work done once in a while.

Drink water kefir, almost exclusively for water intake.   Along with milk kefir, for probiotics & vit K2, and a few other vitamins, that come with it.
