Surin Hospital is calling for immediate blood donations to replenish reserves amidst the Thai-Cambodian border crisis. The appeal seeks to ensure there is enough blood available for emergencies resulting from the ongoing clashes. Public donations are needed daily from 8:30 am to 6 pm.

This urgent request comes in response to escalating tensions and violence at the border, which has led to increased casualties requiring medical attention. Surin Hospital, in collaboration with the Surin Provincial Public Health Office, emphasizes the critical importance of having sufficient blood supplies ready for potential emergencies. Such reserves are crucial for advancing patient care and saving lives during these uncertain times.

The hospital is inviting healthy individuals to contribute to this life-saving effort, highlighting that each unit of blood donated plays a vital role in medical treatments. They describe a single donated unit as “a new breath of life,” underscoring its significance in helping those in immediate need.

Looking forward, Surin Hospital is actively preparing for any sudden increase in demand for medical resources due to the border situation. The ongoing blood drive is part of these preparations, and the hospital is committed to maintaining adequate reserves by continuously encouraging public participation in donations, reported The Nation.

I’ve been giving blood for a few years now here in Thailand and the gratitude I receive from the staff in the local hospital is overwhelming and have become good friends. I urge others to consider doing the same.

I tried a few times over the past couple of years..   they told me I'm too old ..    ( 70 now ) ....   their loss
