The government has disbursed more than 6.5 billion baht in flood-relief payments to households across nine southern provinces, providing immediate support to communities affected by the 2025 rainy-season flooding. A total of 730,932 households have now received the 9,000-baht lump-sum assistance, according to an update issued on 11 December 2025 by government spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat. Officials say the payments are intended to help families cover urgent expenses as recovery efforts continue.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) and the Government Savings Bank have jointly carried out ten rounds of transfers under the relief programme. The payments cover affected areas in Songkhla, Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Pattani, Phatthalung, Yala, Satun and Surat Thani. The relief measure was introduced in response to widespread flooding during the 2025 rainy season, which caused significant disruption and damage across the southern region.

Authorities report that 28,455 households have not yet received their funds due to irregularities in bank accounts linked to the transfers. These issues include inactive accounts or accounts not registered correctly for PromptPay. Agencies are now working to resolve the problems and ensure that all eligible families receive the intended support.

The government has urged households that have not linked PromptPay to their national identification number to do so as soon as possible. Officials say this step is essential to enable rapid disbursement once account issues are corrected. The spokesperson added that residents can check their payment status through the official portal at the DDPM’s flood relief website.

With most payments already completed, the authorities are focusing on clearing the remaining unsuccessful transfers to ensure no eligible household is missed. Agencies involved in the relief operation are coordinating to accelerate verification and troubleshoot pending cases. The government emphasises that prompt action by residents will help speed up the final phase of disbursement.

ThaiRath reported that as recovery progresses, officials are expected to issue further updates on payment completion and any additional support measures. Monitoring of post-flood conditions will continue as the southern provinces move toward longer-term rehabilitation. The relief programme remains a key component of the government’s broader response to this year’s severe monsoon impacts.
