A 13-year-old boy died after a motorcycle collision triggered a fire when a fuel container he was carrying ruptured and ignited on the Phayao–Pa Daet Road in Phayao province. The incident occurred on the evening of 11 December 2025, in Ban San Pa Kok, Moo 9, Dong Chen subdistrict, Phoo Kam Yao district. Police and rescue workers responded to the scene and found the boy critically injured before he later died in hospital.

Officers from Phoo Kam Yao Police Station arrived to discover a green Honda motorcycle without a licence plate, severely damaged at the front and lying beside a Chevrolet pickup truck with registration number from Udon Thani. The pickup had impact damage to its left front corner. Fuel had spilled across the road surface, indicating the force of the collision.

According to initial inquiries, the boy had ridden his motorcycle to a local petrol station in Ban San Pa Kok to buy fuel, which he placed in a container secured in the front basket of his bike. He was on his way home when the pickup reportedly turned abruptly across his path, causing the motorcycle travelling straight ahead to collide forcefully with it. The impact shattered the fuel container, causing fuel to spill and ignite, engulfing the boy in flames.

Police stated that the boy was rushed to hospital, but his burn injuries were too severe and he died shortly after arrival. Witness accounts and physical evidence indicated that the fire spread rapidly, leaving the victim with extensive burns. The damaged vehicles, fuel traces and collision marks were documented at the scene for further analysis.

Khoasod reported that investigators are collecting additional witness statements and reviewing the circumstances to determine liability. Police have not yet announced whether any charges will be filed against the pickup driver pending completion of the investigation. Authorities expect to carry out further forensic assessments to confirm the exact sequence of events and contributing factors.
