A man was killed after being struck by a saloon car while crossing Srinakarin Road inbound, shortly before the Lotus Srinakarin area, at around 03.00 on 13 December. The victim died at the scene in the middle of the road, prompting a police investigation and traffic checks in the area.

The fatal incident occurred during the early hours when visibility was limited. The deceased was identified as a man aged approximately 50–55 years, whose name was initially unknown as he was carrying no identification documents at the time of the incident. Officers later established that he worked as a collector of second-hand or recyclable items.

At the scene, police found the victim’s pushcart used for collecting items parked at the roadside. The saloon car involved in the collision sustained damage to its left side, indicating the point of impact. The driver of the car remained at the scene and provided an initial statement to officers.

According to the driver, the pedestrian was seen walking on the road when he was at close range, leaving insufficient time to stop the vehicle. The driver stated that the sudden presence of the pedestrian meant braking could not prevent the collision. These claims have not yet been formally concluded and remain subject to verification.

Officers from Mueang Samut Prakan Police Station attended the scene to secure the area and carry out preliminary examinations. The victim was pronounced dead at the location, and standard procedures were followed to document the incident and collect evidence.

As part of the investigation, police are reviewing footage from closed-circuit television cameras in the vicinity. The CCTV review is intended to establish the sequence of events leading up to the collision and to determine whether any additional factors contributed to the collision. Authorities are proceeding in line with legal protocols to assess responsibility and potential charges, if applicable.

In other words "I was driving too fast.", but of course he didn't say that.
