Five teenagers in Chon Buri turned themselves in to police after a video of them dancing on decorative buffalo statues went viral and sparked public outrage. The statues were part of a local cultural display created by students and intended to attract visitors. Critics said the teens’ behaviour showed disrespect for community property and cultural symbols. After backlash on social media, the youths apologised and agreed to cooperate with authorities. Some members of the public, however, want stricter consequences to deter similar actions in the future.
