Pornhub Data Breach Exposes Search History Of 200 Million Users

Pornhub has begun notifying more than 200 million premium users that their data — including search history and viewing activity — may have been stolen in a major security breach involving a third-party analytics provider.

The adult website said hackers gained unauthorised access to analytics data held by Mixpanel, a service Pornhub previously used to track site traffic. While Pornhub insists its own systems were not compromised, cybercriminals claim to be in possession of an enormous dataset detailing how users interacted with the platform.

According to a report by BleepingComputer, the attackers allege the stolen records include email addresses, approximate locations, video titles, search keywords, activity types and timestamps — amounting to more than 200 million individual entries. The data is said to relate to Pornhub Premium users, who pay $14.99 a month for access to exclusive content.

In a statement, Pornhub confirmed the breach involved “unauthorized access to analytics data stored with Mixpanel,” adding that the attackers were able to extract a “limited set of analytics events for some users.” The company stressed that passwords, payment details, credentials and government IDs were not exposed.

Pornhub revealed the issue on December 12, saying the intrusion stemmed from a November security incident affecting Mixpanel. It also noted it has not used Mixpanel since 2023, meaning the exposed data would be from that year or earlier.

Mixpanel CEO Jen Taylor said the company had taken “comprehensive steps” to contain the breach, secure affected accounts and bring in external cybersecurity experts. However, Mixpanel told BleepingComputer it could not independently verify that the Pornhub data now circulating online originated from the November incident.

The hacking group ShinyHunters has claimed responsibility, publicly advertising what it described as Pornhub Premium analytics data and hinting at other high-profile victims.

Pornhub has warned users to be alert to phishing attempts and suspicious messages, saying investigations are ongoing and authorities have been notified.

Key Takeaways

  • Hackers claim to have stolen analytics data linked to 200 million Pornhub users

  • Exposed records may include search history, video titles and timestamps

  • Pornhub says passwords and payment details were not compromised

My hands are clean

None from Thailand unless they're using a VPN. Porn Hub was amongst the 1st if the 1st to be blocked here many, many moons ago. Now most are blocked.

Stop denying you are using!  You've all got right arms like Arnold Swarzenegger!

Wow, that's ~$3B a month.

Lots of tissues too

Those analytics can be interesting/amusing. I remember reading an article a few years ago, which revealed that the most frequent porn search query in Japan was "Japanese wife"… The most frequent one in France was "Muslim girl"… Make of it what you will.

While specific real-time data constantly shifts, general trends from major platforms like

Pornhub show "lesbian" often tops searches in many US states, with other popular terms including "MILF," "stepmom," "step sister," and racial/ethnic categories like "black," "ebony," and "Asian," varying regionally by state

Point is why are they blocked at all? Just as ridiculous as sex toys being illegal.

I can understand their being banned in Thailand. If the women begin satisfying themselves. The Thai man would never get laid. It is bad enough the men get laid and leave the woman unsatisfied. If the woman has a sex toy or begins making porn she will never want a thai man.
