  • Almost daily, I find helpful and kind local people everywhere in this country.   This starkly contrasts to (mostly) foreigners who I suspect reside here grudingly, and either ignore your smi

I have been helped mostly by people in this forum

Back in October 2024 I rented a Airbnb in Jomtien

My Airbnb was the ground floor facing onto the road ,the block has no security

I was practically"assaulted" and threatened by noise around 11pm that night with several middle eastern youths riding through the carpark near my balcony making noises revving their engines constantly

They gave me the finger when I went out in the balcony

I posted posts on here that night how I had to hide under the bed for fear

I had no idea who to call ,the silly building had no security guard

About 30 minutes later there was several tourist police cars all in the driveway of the condo block and farangs on motorbikes riding around I presume coming to my SOS

These middle eastern boys took off when they saw the red lights

I had many messages from posters saying they were calling the police for me and thankyou to those guys who "stayed" with me online during that traumatic event

I also had to "escape" from the view talay 2b at one time by jumping the fence next to the outside coffee shop , a poster on here was waiting for me on his motorbike

While out walking the dog, I was given 3-4 cantaloupes by a farmer who was harvesting and sorting them alongside the road. Next door neighbor gave me a serving of goong foi (tiny freshwater shrimp) fried with rice flour and salt and pepper. Very tasty.

This girl from Phuket flew in to see me. Does the dishes and me now.

Really nice of her.

So that's a new take on "putting a load in the dishwasher " ?

I have no exact experience... but I believe Thai people will respond to any accident
