True fiber outages at peak hours

Featured Replies

Very often,  at times like Friday afternoon our internet from true fiber breaks down.

It usually comes back quite soon, but today they told me, it will not come back today.

I called AIS and it turned out, AIS fiber doesn't serve this condo, only true.

That explains a lot.

The work around is mobile internet from AIS (and maybe cancel true completely).

Any other ideas?

Not a lot of choice for when it comes to Unlimited data via a Prepaid SIM. AIS 10 Mbps. GoMo 15Mbps. TRUE 20Mbps.

GoMo(AIS) offers the best value, at 259 baht per 30 days. Thai registration only.

It may help if you said where you were. In Pattaya I have rarely had more than 2-4 hours of downtime intermittently and certainly not on a regular cycle.

Central Bangkok

It actually came back yesterday after a couple of hours.

But, yes, it is quite regularly,  at times like Friday night  or Saturday afternoon.

Thx

I never heard of GoMo, can you elaborate?

Hmmmm....internet go long pub lunch on Fri. Hungover Sat.🙃🙃

True internet in Bangkok is very unreliable so that in my case I have let AIS install a second router. If this is not possible in your building you might ask 3BB and also TOT if they cover your location.

Precisely !! 🥹🥹

We live in a house in the outskirts of Bangkok so we can choose the ISP we want. When we moved here we had a fiber from True and there were always trouble, it was not only outa,it was also very little bandwidth. True's answer to this was that were so many customers on our area.

Well, after a couple of months I was so fed up with True, so I called AIS and ordered a fiber from them. This was around 8-9 years ago, I think, and since then we only had minor problems. If there are an outage I always get an SMS from them, telling when they estimate to fix the problem. They are often faster than estimated time.

I'm sorry this doesn't help the op , but it confirms the problem with True and perhaps helps others to choose ISP.

By the way, in our house in rural Isaan, we have a fiber from 3BB, also working great.

In Pattaya we have 3BB Fibre, over weekends the signal stops, or they are reducing the bandwidth (THROTTLING)

Very annoying when trying to watch live tv.
