Appalling, and stupid, behaviour by the Germans. I suspect the hotel would settle for 50-75k baht.

And the police for the 125-150k baht balance.

  • These two are about as bright as a bucket of rocks, travel to a foreign country, intentionally commit a crime and get locked up for being emotionally weak and stunted.

  • 200,000 but damages yeah right!

  • Nikita, a traditional German first name. Just a question on the side; what is worth 200,000 baht in this hotel room?

Hopefully the RTP will agree with you.

What? There's no money for them in that legal option.

That'll take about a year, with them not being allowed to exit the country.

Nope.

Obviously the 200,000 is an ambit claim. The real damage is probably closer to 75,000 Baht. The hotel will accept 100,000 Baht compensation to dismiss the charges, with the police getting 25,000 Baht.

I agree, and  I expect that most people who have been around a few years  will agree.

I guess they also added the missed revenue due to the nights the room not being available for booking during repairs
Can be costly in the middle of the high season

Bingo.

And like your political views, an over the top imagined scenario influenced only by your own personal bias.

You know less about my "political views" than you do about how the Thai police operates.

Are you new here?

That will be their most expensive holiday ever.

At least !

Maybe they prefer a private deal.

I could easy see damage to a room and fees adding up to 200k.

Smash the TV, punch a few holes in the wall, smash a shower recess glass, smash a few windows/doors.

Add in not been able to let the room for a few days/week and it quickly adds up.

Police said the tourists became dissatisfied with the hotel’s services during their stay and entered into a dispute with hotel staff. In what officers described as an act of anger, the pair allegedly damaged hotel property. The damage was later assessed at more than 200,000 baht.

That should tech them; let them pay the bills and deport them after.
