I am on the street walking like a dog from this morning. I cannot rely too much on my money, so will ask monks I can help cleaning or something else.

But you still have a charged up phone with which you can send these messages.

Yeah social media, it's the devils favourite choice for communication.

My ex girlfriend, I have her old phone she left after moving out. She bought an iPhone recently on Facebook, ordered it 2 weeks ago, they said next day delivery, she's still waiting.

She broke, her translation said to the scammer 'now I'm bankrupt'. God she's beautiful, I miss her stupidity so much ♥️

A non-consensual divorce

This is suspect.

Thailand is very different to the west in this regard. One person cannot simply choose to divorce the other if the other doesn't consent. They need to show a specific reason that happened within the previous 12 months for the divorce to be granted.

Yeah, it's tricky.

You don't know the person's history.

Some guys blow a ton of money in those bars, maybe for years and years.

Can't control their spending on what is essentially a frivolity.

If these types of people go broke, are we supposed to help them?

ironically they might be the most in need for help.  Hard to determine when helping a person is only extending the person's misery. The OP predicaments seems to be mostly legit and I can't see  why someone would put all this energy into a couple thousand baht scam.

I will say that I'm amazed he can't find a place that will accept a copy or no copy of his passport.  Might be harder than I thought or he might lack social skills.

I'm back in Oz now, sadly I could have taken him with me had I known a few days ago.

Maybe you could send him those aboriginal benefits you've been receiving, those fortnightly social security payments must be enormous. 💲💲💲💲💲

Yep and it happens all the time.  It is common in Farang/Thai relationships.  Lawyers get involved and it gets ugly and expensive.  In his case it seems they went through their little cash during the legal aspects of the divorce and were only left with the home.  The court gave the home to his wife to raise the kids. That's my guess.

I'm certainly not going to explain the problems that arose, but we couldn't agree on the terms for a mutually agreeable separation.

Yeah, I think Lorente is testing us.

And how many people offered to help him?

Not too many.

What does that say about us?

Intelligent?

Less naive than the average human?

Experienced? Experienced having fallen for scams?

Interested in a good story?

I fell for a scam.

Person claimed to be orphaned .... then car accident and hospital bills.

It was all fiction.

A non-consensual divorce took away what little I had on me.

A non-consensual divorce?  To the best of my knowledge it takes three years separated before you can get on the docket for divorce hearings - other conditions list below and require witnesses and documentation.  So, how did you manage to to suddenly find yourself "non-consensual divorced" in a manner that was so quick that you had no time to plan, arrange your exit, and accrue sufficient cash to take care of yourself?
Most people who get divorces in Thailand, want divorces, and to do so they go to the Amphur where their marriage is registered and sign the dissolution papers.

If a divorce is "non-consensual" that pretty much means that it is contested.  Contested divorces are messy and the Thai court systems prefers that couples settle divorces amicably.  The process in not easy for contested divorces and generally requires an attempt at mediation before it goes in front of a judge.  This is generally the realm of the rich seeking legal ruling in the division of assets.  You really don't sound like that type.

So I don't know.  Your story sounds a bit contrived imho.  You've been living with your wife and managed to raise three children in Thailand for how long?  Then now you have no friends, no assets, no access to money, no access to resources, no transportation out of the country, the daughter you have won't help, you spend a live building a family then just like that - you're totally alone in Thailand.  I don't necessarily believe it.  To me it sounds like you cast your line, set the star-drag, and now are fishing.   Just saying.  🎣

All you are doing is a pathetic attempt to guilt others in to helping, you are a disgusting person.
