First-time requests of a 90-day notification...

Featured Replies

I’ve been on Visa Non O for 6 years.

I went out of the country for a couple of weeks, got back about 2 ½ months ago.

I just tried to get my TM 47 (90 days extension) on line.

They rejected the application saying: “For first-time requests of a 90-day notification in each country visit, in-person presentation at the immigration office is required.”

Huh? Is this new?

****

I’ve extended many times before, by mail, in the old days, and by online once it started working ok.

Left the country, got back, submitted the app before 90 days ran out. Got my extension. No visiti to CW.

Only the very first time, after getting my Non O did I have to go to the actual office. An once I had to go because I was late.

(Maybe was I just lucky doing this during all the covid restrictions?)

No, not new.

When the new system was introduced in late 2021 you could do as you have tried to do and it would have succeeded.  After a year or so it changed so that the first submission after being abroad could no longer be done online, and had to be in person (including have a representative attend for you) or by mail.

Thanks guys.  I just got spoiled, never left for four almost years during Covid.

What about the address notification?

Do I have to do that too, every time I come back in?

(Non O )

It depends!

The rules say if you're returning to your previous address then no, you don't need to do the TM30.   However if you turn up at some offices for some other business they'll insist it should have been done.  I can do my own online so tend to do that to be on the safe side.

Someone with knowledge of CW expectations will hopefully come along with real life experience of what the practice is there.

Khun Moh Jack,

Yes, for next time, but this first time returning, I still have to visit CW, right?

I wish I could use the maile system. Used that for years, worked fine.

But after the Online became reliable, I used Online.

Easier and saves paperwork, stamps and a trip to the post office.

Yes, I always stay at my condo.

Just after I got back this time, I had to get a proof of residency to buy a car.

To get that at CW, they insisted on a TM 30, which I had, but in a drawer back home.

So I had to get a new one.

I mentioned @treetops advice is correct.

After trip abroad upon return you cannot do you Report online.

However you can do report in person or someone which includes on your behalf or using Mail option.

OP, if you opt to do it in person you can make an appointment at CW.

NOTE: 90 report has moved to level 3. Directly above main immigration desks Level 2

Awesome!

I'll do it by mail tomorrow.

(Yes, Khun Treetops did say that, my bad for not reading closer.)

That explains why this is a surprise to me. I used to routinely do it by mail.

So I must have done those first extensions after a return by mail.

Cool. This will save me half a day wasted going to CW

Thanks!

It sounds like it's too late for you to do it by mail.  You've already used multiple days trying to submit online.  By mail you must send it at the very beginning of your reporting window 15-14 days before your report is due.

And i think it makes no sense to do this first came back 90 days in person, if you have to travel 300 km.

It's cheaper to pay the next time you make a visa 2k Bath. Or mai risk to pay, if everything goes wrong, 5k.

That you can do the first 90 days after a return from outside, by poste is good news. Thank you.
