A major fire broke out at a paper packing factory in Chon Buri in the early hours of December 28, prompting a large-scale emergency response and the collapse of a warehouse structure. The blaze was confined to a storage facility and caused no reported injuries, with authorities confirming the situation was fully brought under control later in the morning.

The incident occurred at about 04:30 at Central South Packing (Thailand) Co Ltd, located at 209/86 Moo 4, Khao Khan Song subdistrict, Si Racha district, Chon Buri province. The fire affected a large warehouse behind the main office building used to store compressed paper bales awaiting export and flames caused the structure to partially collapse.

Local disaster prevention and mitigation officers from Khao Khan Song Subdistrict Administrative Organisation were first alerted and coordinated an extensive response. Firefighting units from Bo Win Subdistrict Administrative Organisation, Chao Phraya Surasak Municipality, Laem Chabang Municipality and the Industrial Estate Authority joined the operation, deploying dozens of fire engines to the site.

Officials said the fire was kept within a limited area due to calm weather conditions, with no strong winds to drive the flames. The affected warehouse was located far from residential areas, reducing the risk to nearby communities, while firefighters took additional precautions because a water pumping station was situated across the road from the office building.

Crews were stationed on standby to prevent the fire from spreading across the road and continuous water spraying was maintained to cool the area and prevent secondary fires. Firefighters remained on scene to monitor hotspots and stabilise the collapsed structure.

By approximately 11:40, the fire was declared fully contained. Additional support later arrived from Nong Sak in Ban Bueng district, Chon Buri, to assist with operations and ensure the site was secure.

Authorities confirmed that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined and will be subject to further investigation and forensic examination. Evidence will be collected to establish how the blaze started and whether any safety or operational issues were involved.

NBT reported that the incident underscores the importance of coordinated emergency responses at industrial sites, particularly those handling large volumes of combustible materials. Officials continue to monitor the area overnight to ensure there is no renewed flare-up as the investigation proceeds.
