8 Foreign Sex Workers Arrested for Soliciting on Pattaya Beach

Oh boy we have a live one here folks.

Meaning? If you think anyone, government or police, thinks there's no Thai prostitution in Pattaya you're naive. Prostitution in Pattaya and in Thailand generally, is regulated under various pieces of legislation that allows it to continue legally. Much like the UK laws on prostitution. How do you think places like soi 6 and short-time hotels thrive? As long as it's conducted within the licensing rules, it is fine. How do you think all the Thai karaokes and soapie massage places continue to operate?

Soliciting for sex is illegal, as is underage prostitution, trafficking and running a brothel.

Perhaps you need to get out more?

Are you really that obtuse ? Good grief you even wrote up all that crap too.

Take a deep breath and repeat after me...........

It was a lame joke. ....thought that was painfully obvious when I originally commented. Seems most of the other posters got it....except you.

Unpopular opinion(?): Thailand is perfectly within its rights to treat foreign prossies more harshly than local ones. Racist? Maybe! Hypocritical? Maybe! So what? That bothers me... not in the slightest.

You could go to a Russian knock club on walking street for years, police turned a blind eye, African girls have been on the streets in Sukhomvit and Pattaya, Phuket for years, I've seen police working traffic right in front of them, so the blind eyes have been blind for many years.

The Russians used to rent whole floors in small hotels, even had there own discos, these seem to be gone nowadays but a small hotel i stayed at in Pratunam had a floor rented and a disco room for Russians, the owner was a good friend and gave me a tour one day. So it's probably been happening since r and r days from Vietnam.

I dont think it started back during the R&R days from Vietnam. But the Russians were going strong in Pattaya in the 90's. They didn't have allot of places but a few good locations!

The authories keep on about people tarnishing the good reputation of Pattaya

What planet are these disillusioned people living on 😱

Yes, as most (male) visitors go to Pattaya for the temples... 😆

Who pays for these 'ladies' to be deported?

They are held in remand until they or their embassy can come up with the fare.

That was the point due to the lameness of the story presented by the dummies in brown.

This action aligns with local efforts to maintain public order and uphold the city's image as a family-friendly tourist destination.

To protect the innocent and the wrongly accused, an accusation is not a conviction.

Anyone accused of a crime is entitled to due process and the presumption of innocence until guilt is proven in a court of law. Only after that process has been completed can a person be lawfully and ethically described as guilty.

Imagine being wrongly accused of theft and having your face splashed across the media before any verdict is reached. The consequences could be severe and irreversible - ranging from public humiliation and reputational damage to loss of employment, financial harm, and long-term social stigma. Even if innocence is later established, the damage is often already done.

Most people will eventually shrug off an unproved accusation of theft or assault or any other "socially acceptable" crime, However its a completely different ball game when the alleged offence is of a sexual nature,

Those accusations tend to stick, like the proverbial to a blanket, "no smoke without fire " is the common response, Few people,, if any , ever recover from the effects of a false conviction.

Their life is effectively ruined, So anybody making accusations of this nature which are proved to be false and maliciously motivated, should in my opinion receive an identical sentence to that which the alleged perp would have received if the false allegations were true

The 8 foreigners were probably lifted because the "horizontal refreshment" business could be an occupation reserved for Thai people only.

We are talking here of "horizontal refreshment with happy ending" . . .
