I was thinking of American Primeval, a series with a similar story line.

Well worth watching.

So good I watched it again a couple of months later. I'm getting a little forgetful these days so that helps.

@recom273 @gargamon @Keeps Thanks for your replies and suggestions; I will see if I can find them somewhere on the internet.

Should it help in any way, I think a good few of my suggestions are on the BBC iPlayer. If you don't already access that then you may need a VPN. I have no issue whatsoever accessing it here in Thailand with my ExpresssVPN. ITVX however - an entirely different matter.

If I'm not mistaken, I need a TV Licence to use the BBC iPlayer, and that may be a bit overkill when I am not sure I want to watch the suggested shows (if I can even get a licence as a Dane). I have found them elsewhere and now I am only looking for some time to check them out.

Whilst I'm on the thread, I'm just going to mention again a movie I watched and mentioned before called Where the Crawdads Sing.

Its' on C4 catch up and Netflix amongst others. A summary would be:

Set in the North Carolina marshlands, the mystery drama follows Kya, an abandoned girl who raises herself in isolation. When her former lover, Chase Andrews, is found dead, Kya is put on trial for murder,

A really great watch imho.

Are they any Thai movies at the cinema worth watching?

Programs like The Fast Show, That Mitchell and Webb Look, The Armstrong and Miller show, Harry and Paul, maybe Catherine Tate are along those lines but probably a bit 'harsher' for want of a better description. Little Britain aswell but that has been heavily sanitised (does a very funny parody of a bloke with a Thai bride").

I just watched a bit of The Fast Show and The Armstrong and Miller Show, looks good! If the rest is in the same vein, I guess I will be spending the summer indoor. Thanks for the suggestions!

One other that is worth a laugh is 'Goodness gracious me'. It's along the same lines as those I mentioned but by an English Asian cast taking the mickey (the pi$$) out of the English. Again, iPlayer but no doubt available on other platforms.

That was a pretty good picture, as I remember...

The New Cape Fear TV series is a total fail IMO. I gave it the 3 (2 1/2) episodes available currently, but won't bother with any more. It just got more and more tedious without an ounce of the suspense or the great acting of the films. It's sacrilege to even give the TV series the same title.

I watch many shows/movies/docos on BBC iPlayer and I don't have a UK TV Licence!! When it asks if I do I click the YES box, but I do have a VPN called SMART DNS and that unlocks the stations that I want.

Oops, nearly forgot to mention that I watched a great movie last night on BBC iPlayer, called, "Nicholas and Alexander" and it was about the Bolshevik revolution in the USSR in 1917/18, and the events leading up to the gruesome finale (which I won't give away here).

I think I'd seen it many, many years ago, but it was a great movie with some really great actors in it.

Just watched "Jack Ryan, Ghost War", and thought it pretty weak. 5/10

I managed the first 10 mins, didn't seem to have a plot.

Sllght mistake by my voice recognition programme as the movie was called "Nicholas and Alexandra" and many decades ago a woman claimed she was Anastasia, one of the Romanov family's daughters who had survived the murder of her family.......but DNA tests many years later proved that to be untrue.

I have just watched an amazing documentary on BBC iPlayer called, "Hunt for the oldest DNA" and it's not only about uncovering the oldest DNA, it's also about the environment in which the animals and plants existed millions of years ago and how climate change came slowly upon them and changed the world forever.

Of course there are climate change sceptics today, and if only one could get them to watch this documentary and the evidence that it uncovers, then we, and the industries around us which contribute to the climate change scenario may be forever changed in the way they operate in today's world.

It's a truly amazing documentary and I suppose it's extremely lucky that I won't be around in years to come when climate change and all that it brings will change lives and the environment forever, just as it did 2 million years ago...........

"For decades, scientists have tried to unlock the secrets of ancient DNA. But life’s genetic blueprint is incredibly fragile, and researchers have struggled to find genetic material in fossils that has survived for millions of years. Then, one maverick scientist had the controversial idea of looking for DNA not in fossils or frozen ancient tissue – but in the soil.

This film follows the scientists deciphering the oldest DNA ever found and revealing for the first time the genes of long-extinct creatures that once thrived in warm, lush Arctic landscapes".

Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed : series ( 6 episodes of 10 released )

Paula is a divorcee and having a hard time with her ex and his new lady who seem to have the upper hand where the young daughter is involved.

Paula decides to solicit the services of a “ cam boy “ ( modern take on phone sex ) to satisfy her needs but finds herself being blackmailed in a scam operation.

Worried this will affect her custody chances she approaches the police who were far from helpful.

She then decides to take things into her own hands and this is where things go badly wrong !!

Labeled as a comedy drama thriller i found this great, some great characters, Paula is lovely with a wicked sense of sarcasm, her two work colleagues are comedy gold busy bodies and her ex is an A hole of the top order.

when I first came to Pattaya (90s) It was the same when you walk around the bars, never met so many SAS--or Delta Force, most of them said they couldn't talk about, then after 2 beers they wouldn't shut up about it.

Yer -I read the book which was the top best seller for about a year--- doing that always puts me off seeing the movie. Book was great. She moved to Zambia but her personal life remained overshadowed by an unsolved 1990s murder investigation in Zambia. That's why you dont see her doing Interviews in case the questions wander into that. Although the Atlantic newspaper--did outright accuse her , her stepson and husband as persons of interest in the killing and subsequent disposal of the body. As reported on Wikipedia, the Owenses left Zambia on the advice of the U.S. Embassy and are still wanted for questioning by Zambian authorities.

It was OK.

US optimism and confident bravado vs dour Scottish pragmatism.

It was a bit confusing 😕 when Trafford Leigh-Mallory sounded like Montgomery from SAS Rogue Heroes both played by Con O'Neill and Montgomery was played by Damian Lewis. 😀

I haven't seen this one, but the majority of Harlan Coben's stuff that has been made for TV has been bog ordinary.

Season 2 first episode dropping now.

Sugar is a contemporary noir drama following an enigmatic Los Angeles private detective known for his sharp instincts and deep love of classic cinema. As he takes on complex cases across the city, his work is shaped by personal struggles with personal demons and a ongoing search for his missing sister.

I came to say, Sugar appeared overnight

Some other returns - Cangaço Novo or New Bandits, I think it's a Mexican show that has been mentioned in the past. Season 01 was worth a look.

And a full season (05) of Arctic Circle or Ivalo just appeared with English subs.

I've started watching all the old "Twilight Zone" programs, I want to see if there are any that I have not seen.
