What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2026)

Featured Replies

I watched a superb movie last night called "Hombre" and it had been digitally remastered so the quality was excellent. It starred Paul Newman, Martin Balsam, Richard Boone and Diane Cilento and it was one of the best movies I've seen in years. A "revisionist" Western about a man raised by Indians who finds himself on a stagecoach along with an assortment of characters , most of whom don't take to him. A great watch IMO.

I'm not posting about a movie in particular, but more about how to access them or downloading! In the past I've used 1337x.to and TPBay, however nowadays they seem to be clunky and slow, and more to the point, when trying to download a particular movie called "RockanRolla" (for example) it's damn near impossible to get it to register on my QBitTorrent site and according to the site will take 35 days to download – – yeah right!

I have also noticed that there are a lot of movies with 265 Codecs and these seem to be getting more popular and in many cases outweigh the number of those with 264 which are available, so I'm wondering if I should download the 265 codecs and hope that my PC/TV can play them – – your thoughts and any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I use 1337X all the time and not having the kind of trouble you mention. The only time I get a slow download, and sometimes won't download at all, is when there are not enough seeds and leechers.

The 1337x site's counts for seeders and leechers are greatly overestimated. As they get their torrents from other sites, the counts they use are a total from those sites. Lots of duplications as one user can be counted multiple times.

Thanks and the particular movie I wanted to download only had one or two seeders and leechers for the 264 version but many more for the 265, so was tempted to download one of those, so will try that next time.........and thanks for replying.

I think the problem was that there were onlly a couple of Seeders and Leechers, but Mutt Daeng has sent me a link to another Torrent site and that is very fast.

'The Isolate Thief' a movie with Sean Bean as an American outlaw during The Civil War! I enjoyed it - nary a sign of a Yorkshire accent.

Season 4 has started.

What a shock that is.

It certainly seemed over after the Season 3 finale.

Tip Toe.

Excellent series starring the brilliant Alan Cummings.

They just went with Womans Soccer

The Guilty. Hell to Eternity, Kansas, American Sniper, New Jack City, Bronco Billy, Zero Dark Thirty, Water Diviner, Tammy, Righteous Kill.

Daffy duck's movie: Fantastic Island. Alvin and the Chipmunks. Fantasia 2000. Tom and Jerry: Magic ring.

Have just watched another classic movie, "Cast Away" with Tom Hanks and Helen Hunt, not forgetting "Wilson". Still a favourite and rightly so, and a "tear jerker" at the end.

Use x264 if:

  • You want maximum compatibility.

  • You're streaming to lots of different/older devices.

  • You're not particularly concerned about file size. File sizes are going to be bigger than x265.

Use x265 if:

  • You want to save disk space.

  • You're dealing with 4K/HDR.

x265 take longer to encode and takes more processing power to make, but that shouldn't really worry you. It's dont think it's really a codec issue, its HVEC which is the method of compression. Some TV or media players dont support it. idk really know too much, I know certain sites have been holding off moving to x265 because the user base might not be able to play the files- Choosing x264, larger size files, easier to encode and appeal to those who might not have up-to-date tech.

@Will27 I forgot to mention some decent documentaries

And another Channel 5 (meh) documentary about Jeremy Bamber, kind of told that there were massive holes in the investigation and new evidence with regard to the silencer, had come out, possible appeal, (tbh, I forgot about the details lol)

I was wondering why it was on YouTube .. If you have a VPN then you can access C4 material on YouTube, sorry, I didnt know.

It should be available on the torrent sites - a few months old already.

I watched another Tom Hanks movie last night. Captain Phillips from 2013. Based on the Maersk Alabama ship hijacking by Somali Pirates. It would seem that Hollywood put a somewhat glossy shine on the true actions of Captain Richard Phillips. Most of the story is true but perhaps he wasn't quite the hero portrayed.....

Barkhad Abdi (who plays the lead Somali Pirate) is fantastic in what was his acting debut. In real life, the lead pirate Abduwali Muse was sentenced to over 33 years in a US federal prison.

Well worth a watch.
