90 day Non O Spouse

Featured Replies

I am applying for a Non O based on marriage to a Thai Spouse. I will apply from the UK and will use my UK bank account for the financial requirements.

When the 90 days are up and I need to extend for a year ,how long does the ฿400,000 need to be seasoned for ?

The standard seasoning time is 2 full months at the time you apply for the extension.

If that is the case then I will be able to open an account at a different Bank and close my Bangkok Bank account

It's always best to check with your local immigration office to make sure, but I don't know of any immigration offices that require more than 2 months for the extension. Some might require 3 months if you are trying to convert to the visa inside of Thailand, but you should be clear with 2 months.

You are wise to get away from Bangkok Bank and their shenanigans.

I will be using Immigration at Udon Thani.

I will apply for the initial 90 day Non O in the UK.

Which are the recommendations for a Bank ?

Kassikorn ? Krungsri ?

Can't go wrong with Kasikorn, good app, the highest transfer limit that Wise offers, and everywhere in Thailand.

But if you are in Udon Thani, it might be less about which bank you want, and more about which bank branch actually lets you open an account. Some people have issues in the further flung provinces.

Good plan.

Did you marry in UK or Thailand.

You should be able to open bank account in Udon with a Non O.

Bank may require COR.

Try Kasikorn first.

Not as yet married but have appointment at British Embassy for freedom to marry affidavit 08.30 Feb 3rd and appointment at 10.00 same day with translation office at Central World and then the next day an appointment with MoFA Central World at 10.00 for Express service.

We are to get married at an Amphur about 30 km from Udon Thani city the following week.

Good. Also seems you are aware of what's required eg freedom to marry" etc.

Excellent. Some folk not aware of that.

Even moreso married abroad requirements

Two months but it varies by Immigration office. Best to be safe and be able to produce a three month statement. My office wanted three months. I give them a year now.
