Pheu Thai's Yodchanan Wongsawat has made a bold promise to eradicate poverty by ensuring a monthly income of at least 3,000 baht for low-earning Thais.

Speaking at City Hall Square, he highlighted plans to strengthen the grassroots by cutting expenses, boosting income, and enhancing opportunities. Yodchanan aims to address core issues with solutions like debt restructuring, despite criticism of populism.

Yodchanan also proposed a loan scheme for Thais abroad, promoting business ventures outside the country. He stressed that around 3.4 million people earn less than 3,000 baht monthly, and the party intends to support these citizens by supplementing their income. He views this initiative as a continuation of previous efforts to combat poverty and ensure long-term improvement.

Julapun Amarvivat, another Pheu Thai candidate, emphasised the election's role in shaping Thailand's future. Criticising Anutin Charnvirakul, Julapun accused the current government of making unfulfilled promises and failing to tackle major issues. Julapun directly addressed Anutin, citing failures such as neglecting charter amendments and important legal cases.

The Pheu Thai Party aims to position Yodchanan as prime minister after the election. They urge voters to consider their experience and promise when making decisions at the polls. The party's strategy centres on practical measures aimed at enhancing the lives of numerous low-income citizens, while also considering global opportunities. reported The Nation.

Ridiculous. I have met a family with 3,000 baht monthly income. They are forced to live in a shack with a roof but no walls on unclaimed land. No way to live.

Vote for us and we'll empty the Thai treasury into your pocket. We'll finance it by raising your VAT to 10 or 12%. thumbsup

Learning from the US. Spend your children's inheritance so they can have the same miserable debt experience you do!

For a start

How about coughing up the 10,000 baht that was promised many times in the last election to all Thais over 16...

Or

Raising payments for old people to more than 5-6-700 baht a month...

Pheu Thai really is yesterday's party isn't it? The Move Forward or whatever it's called now will most likely be the favorite. Of course, we all know how this will end... unfortunately. Thailand does not have a free and fair democratic election. The world recognizes this. And that extends to extra-democratic institutions that constantly meddle with the voting outcomes. So the same small group of well connected, ethnic, rich people continue to rule parliament.

3000 THB a month in these times?? They need it in a week with the sharp rising prices and the decreasing economy....Maybe the Pheu Thai members could make a gesture of halving their wages if they will be elected...and the other half for the poor

just a few examples of election promises from the thaksin party:

they promised tablets for students to improve english and education. this program became a financial disaster .. (education levels went down)

the rice subsidy for farmers. it caused huge financial losses and a corruption scandal, and it did not give farmers any long-term profit ...

they promised 10,000 baht for all thais to boost the economy. it failed, had no positive effect on the economy, and the payments were later stopped ...

now they are promising at least 3,000 baht for all thais as minimum monthly income. ... after all the past failures, it is fair to ask what will go wrong this time ...

sadly, there are still blind (thaksin-) followers who still believe the empty promises of this party, but luckily they are now only a small minority ...
