Probably saving American taxpayers $Trillions in welfare expenses, including $ tens of billions in outright fraud.

Oh, wait. Are you claiming that's a bad thing?

And costing US farmers their businesses and land they've owned for generations. You need to look at where fraud and corruption is taking place in the US right now. I think you might have been distracted by the divide and conquer tactic used by your own administration. Welfare as food stamps and health care got cut down for everyone actually needing it there.

The way things are going under the conmans rule, no one wants to go to the USA anyway. No real loss to anyone until the govt changes.

  • They're taking a timeout to evaluate why so many approved visa candidates end up on the dole when they come to the USA. Sounds reasonable to me. Sounds like the vetting process hasn't been working v

  • How many Americans are going on the dole in Thailand? Here's the key, from the OP: aiming to prevent the entry of individuals deemed likely to become a public charge.

Surely that's the point? Too many people going throuh the process without a hitch - including those that become dependent on the benefits system?

Sure, this review of a 45-year-old Viet Woman and her 15-year-old Daughter were a Trump threat.

silly you

The terms I had agreed to was neither would ever have access to any financial aid.

Your BS

Last year two young German women were detained and put in detention overnight before being put on a departing flight. Immigration claimed they lied about where they would be staying in Hawaii. This story made local and national headlines with details of the horrid conditions they faced in detention.

a visa or ESTA doesn't guarantee entry... never has, and never will... provide false (untrue statements), incomplete, or inconsistent info on accommodations, and you play a dangerous game risking being turned around.

Nothing illegal about it. Just a bunch of anti-Trump stuff that is perfectly legal. No translation required. I openly and proudly stated that.

Then you shouldnt be scared LOL

How often do you go home? I can't afford a home in the US and here but wish I could. Retired at 41 and sacrificed having the financial freedom you have. Still think it was a great choice but it would be nice to be able to go back to a home once a or twice a year.

I retired in 2025 and only want to snowbird to Thailand. It's cold here but the race season starts next month and I have a dr apt. I can go back and forth three to four times per year.

So its OK to lie to US Immigration?

Wonder how US Immigration detention compares to Thailand

We are advising our Thai friends to forget visiting us in Hawaii because there are just too many well publicized cases of foreign travelers being denied entry at HNL. The sad reality is that the U.S.has become a police state.

Give us some cases of unjustified denials of entry into HNL. You guys get 3 million entries a year, mostly from Japan. Give us some numbers then. Or just be exposed as another histrionic Trump hater

Im headed back in a month or so, get my free dental work, new free glasses, renew my prescriptions, get some new shoes and enjoy spring and early summer before I wend my way back. Hopefully Thailand will still be there.

How long is your flight? I'm heading back for Songkran in April.

I understand your concerns about home prices in the USA. If I sold my house and moved abroad, I wouldn't be able to return and purchase another home. I do envy you for retiring at 41 in paradise. No one will say on their death bed, Damn, I wish I had worked more.

It depends on my route. Im in Azerbaijan now (total America loving, Trump loving country) , then over to Tblisi, then somewhere in Europe, probably Amsterdam or Frankfurt, so 8-10 hours to NYC from there then another 2 hours after that to destination.

Back to Bangkok depends on where I leave from and where I lay over. Coming out, I went to Tashkent (8 hours), then Baku (2 hours). Tblisi is now 1 hour away and I can go from there to virtually all European Cities and Israel for $125 give or take so I have tons of options. As I age I have been tryin g to do overnight layovers and direct flights. I will probably go to Batumi in April, stay till Augustish, then Tblisi, Baku, Tashkent, Bangkok, Siem Reap.

Why is that racist? What gives you the right to call someone else "trash" because they point out an obvious fact?

And you swore that she would not be a public charge. Cost you hundreds of dollars. Bet she is pissed at folks getting to stay here for free and get welfare.

How do you feel about that?

It seems that you don't understand. Anybody who possesses anything negative about Trump in their social media content is heading for big trouble at the border. There is nothing illegal in my phone, but there is lots of legal free speech, negative re Trump. But free speech is out the window now in USA.

You do believe Trump and his mafia care what is legal and constitutional? They make their own rules which change from day to day.

I think that you misunderstand what I was saying. I was responding to another commenter who was suggesting that I have illegal stuff in my social media. Otherwise, I fully agree with your comments about Trump and his mafia.

There seems to be all kinds of free speech these days in the USA.

Says who? How many of the millions of visitors to the US are excluded because of their social media?

Free speech is fine for citizens and lawful permanent residents. Guests need to watch their tongues. Sort of like Thailand and England...wait in England even citizens need to watch their tongues.

Canada? Well when they dont like what you say, the freeze your bank accounts.

My Thai wife got one of those which just expired a few months ago. It's the ultimate slap in the dick when she gets a 10 year TOURIST visa and I need to show up with a 2" stack of paper and cash in the bank then report my location every 90 days like a frickin' criminal.

Shut all that nonsense down. Put them on a short leash like they do for us and deport/denaturalize everyone abusing any system or being a burden on the public.

Good luck now though. Getting a USA tourist visa was a piece of cake in the 2000s and up to the mid 2010s, now you might as well forget it unless you have a very clean social media profile (as in zero criticism of the USA, no edge-posting or anything anti-Trump)

Yep, they scrutinize your social media profile and can go back up to 5 years, where you will be staying etc. Backpacker tourists are getting turned-around at the border after days / weeks in county jails and detention centers. Unless you are like Disneyland or NYC shopping expect the third-degree. I've been to America under Obama and Trump and let me tell you as much as Obama was a jack-ass, Trump has made legal border crossings an absolute minefield.

US tourist Visa is silly! 10 years multi entry. it should be 90 days for tourists...

You get 6 months at a time on the US tourist visa, valid for 10 years usually.

I see on that list that he suspended Albania, but not Serbia.

Maybe he feels guilty about NATO bombing Belgrade.

Unproven allegations is a trademark of U.S.immigration.

You are making numbers up, just like Trump:

"USA Welfare Costs

The total government spending on welfare across federal, state, and local levels reached approximately $1.5 trillion in 2025. This includes Medicaid, which accounted for $742 billion, and other welfare programs totaling $757 billion."

How do those numbers tally up over decades? The Biden open borders will cost taxpayers $$ trillions. Immigrants on welfare is the gift that keeps on taking. For generations.

Many of us are hoping that this won't affect spousal visas. When she applied previously she got a 10-year multiple entry and all they were interested in seeing was my passport, to determine that I travel back and forth from Thailand to the US frequently. Hopefully that will remain the same.

Any info anyone might have would be helpful.

A 10-year multiple entry visa is a Tourist visa (even if it is for your spouse) and is not affected. A Spousal visa, which confers immigrant status, is 'temporarily' banned for citizens of the 75 listed countries.

Says who? Says me. It has happened to my family and to friends of ours. I won't waste my time furnishing details to deniers. I already gave one well publicized glaring example of visitors being denied.
