MFA questions halt to US immigrant visas for Thais

US law does require any hospital that takes Medicare payments (which is just about all of them) to provide emergency medical care to anyone, regardless of their ability to pay. It is for emergencies and the patient must be treated in hospital emergency wings and the hospital of course can bill the patient afterwards. Of course, if you can't pay, you can't pay. Hospitals may not refuse patients, dump them at other hospitals, or otherwise deny them care until they are stabilized. This includes things such as ongoing kidney dialysis.

Then the unpaid bills are distributed to the paying customers via higher medical costs, thus burdening the middle-class even more.

It's a drop in the bucket and it barely makes a difference as medical costs and hospital costs are already so far out of control in the US it boggles the mind. They are likely the highest medical costs and the highest hospital costs on the planet, and are evidence of a broken nation.

Best way to fix a lot of problems in the USA, is to remove government from them, no more endless pot of taxpayer money, then things can get back to normal.

Only problem with this statement is that loud mouth yanks DON'T migrate to Thailand. What should happen is to put a blanket ban on ALL yanks coming to Thailand, even as tourists. Also until the ban on Thais is lifted give ALL yanks, not on long term visas (marriage or retirement) 14 days to leave the country, NEVER to return.

Time to stand up to the convicted orange felon and his cabal of thugs.

I guess you missed the civil case. The official conviction was for "sexual assault". The judge said technically it was rape.

No doubt rape is okay for MAGAs, as is stealing highly classified documents and trying to overthrow a democratic election. There is neither morality nor integrity among MAGAs. That's why they're MAGAs.

The Judge said assault was "technically" rape... rape is clearly defined... The Judge was a democrat looking for blood, with no proof or real evidence.

I agree. Both parties appear to be broken beyond repair, and neither have representatives that care one iota about the people. Of course the hyena is worse than the cow, but when you really break it down an alligator is an alligator no matter how you define it.

I think we're going to see something resembling anarchy pretty soon, Trump is likely to declare martial law and at that point fascism is right around the corner. And I'm not saying we're not experiencing a form of fascism now, but it's likely to get worse if Trump is given an excuse to flex his tiny muscles.

Thailand only allocates around 100 applications per year for each separate nationality to apply for permanent residence. The number receiving PR, however, is in the single digits for applicants. In recent years between 6000 and 10,000 Thais have been granted PR (Green Cards) in the US. So what is this guy complaining about? Would he like it if it became standard US policy to only give as many green cards to Thais as the number of PR received by Americans in Thailand?

Same about taxes on imported goods.. Thailand think they r special and the hub of this and that.Karma is a bitch!

was trump convicted of crimes

Yes, Donald Trump was convicted of crimes in 2024. As of 2026, he remains a convicted felon, though he received no active punishment (such as jail time or fines) for these convictions.

New York "Hush Money" Conviction

On May 30, 2024, a New York jury found Donald Trump guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree.

  • The Crime: The conviction centered on records intended to conceal a $130,000 hush-money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.

  • The Sentence: On January 10, 2025, Judge Juan Merchan sentenced Trump to an unconditional discharge. This means the conviction is formalized on his criminal record, but he faces no jail time, probation, or fines.

  • Current Status: Trump is currently appealing the conviction, arguing that evidence used during the trial should have been excluded based on the Supreme Court's 2024 ruling on presidential immunity.

Status of Other Criminal Cases

As of 2026, the other three major criminal indictments against Trump have either been dismissed or dropped:

  • Federal Election Interference (D.C.): Dismissed in November 2024 at the request of Special Counsel Jack Smith following Trump's election victory.

  • Classified Documents Case (Florida): Initially dismissed by Judge Aileen Cannon in July 2024. The federal appeal of this dismissal was abandoned by the Justice Department in November 2024.

  • Georgia Election Interference: All remaining charges against Trump and other defendants were dropped by the prosecutor in November 2025 after a lengthy pause and the disqualification of the original District Attorney, Fani Willis.

Summary of Legal Consequences

  • Presidency: His status as a convicted felon did not legally prevent him from holding the office of the President.

  • Travel Restrictions: As a convicted felon, Trump may face travel restrictions to countries that bar entry to those with criminal records, such as Canada and the UK, though he can seek special waivers as a head of state.

  • Pardon Power: As president, Trump cannot pardon himself for the New York conviction because it is a state-level crime, not a federal one.

He was no convicted of rape as the OP calimed.

Frankly the 34 felony counts where lawfare.

When Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg first brought charges against Donald Trump in March 2023, the legal theory behind the indictment remained remarkably unclear. Bragg had charged Trump under New York Penal Law § 175.10, falsifying business records in the first degree. The falsification of business records alone is a misdemeanor under § 175.05—but Bragg had boosted the charge to a felony by alleging that Trump fudged the records with the “intent to commit another crime and aid and conceal the commission thereof.” But what other crime? The indictment didn’t say.

sure and also what the judge who actually tried the case says

She's entitled to her opinion, but again he wasn't convicted of rape!

Carrol couldn't remember the year or the day of when it happened. Why did she wait 30 years to say something?

I'm not saying he's a great guy, but women do lie too.. If he was a rapist we would have heard stories decades ago.

Don't say he has money to keep things quiet, Bill Clinton was president and he couldn't keep the Monica thing quiet.

It is imperative for the people of Thailand to actively safeguard their rich cultural heritage by thoughtfully regulating immigration. It is vital to prevent any ideologies, such as white supremacy, from gaining a foothold in their society. By doing so, they can foster an environment that celebrates their traditions and values, ensuring a vibrant future for generations to come.

one minute you say the USA should have open boarders for diversity, but then when it comes to Thailand it's different.

You said diversity is imperative, why is it ok for Thailand and other nations to enforce immigration and not the USA?

White supremacy?? any other key words you want to throw out?

The Thai immigrants I have had the pleasure of meeting in the US are largely as you say: hard working, as well as being model citizens.

I'm going to guess there wasn't a single person of Thai ancestry who attacked the US Capitol on 6 January 2021.

Now all of those MAGA janitors, truck drivers and people on SSDI who did storm the Capitol should be deported to CECOT in El Salvador. They have lost the right to be American, as has the fat man Trump himself (for trying to overturn 250 years of US democracy).

Idiot, you cant deport US citizens!!

What's your issue with truck drivers, janitors and people that are disabled? you think you're better than them?

how long are you guys going to keep blowing that horn!

There was no insurrection, there were people that protested with no rock throwing, no burning down buildings etc.

About 5000+/- people showed up. You really believe 5000 people were going to take over the US government with 1.4 million soldiers that have guns, tanks and jets??

Don't forget, Americans, if they voted for Biden or Trump are complicit in genocide in Gaza.

These vile supremacists DO think they are better than Trump voters. This is where the polarization comes.

Nah, there is no genocide in Gaza.

Is there a US policy to evict Thais from the US? Meanwhile, Thailand already evicts Americans (and other nationalities) when they are caught violating Thai immigration law.

Obviously you have not been paying attention to Michigan. So, are you saying that there should be no consequences for breaking Thai immigration law?

Predominantly white counties in the West struggle with significant diversity issues. It's crucial that we confront and dismantle white supremacy to foster a more inclusive society for all.
