Russian Doctor Found Murdered in Pattaya Hotel Room

Yes, something like that!

At its very basic, I just can't see it being suicide, due to the timeline of events. Just too near arrival time to have any suicidal thoughts.

Phone / messages / email records, as well as CCTV from the time of landing would be interesting, should this case be properly investigated.

Does it really matter that what used to be the KGB is now the FSB or SVR.

They still do hit jobs, as the multiple poisonings of dissidents show.

Definitely not suicide. The known facts do not add up. Whether the unfortunate victimwas bashed to death in his hotel room, or thrown out the window (or both), the outcome is the same and I hope police find the killer.

Rest in Peace

Same question, are there no tall buildings in Russia?

Is there no access to drugs in Russia? He was a doctor, so not short of money, and could get his hands on "the good stuff" for himself if he was a drug user.

Plenty of alcohol in Russia, that's for sure.

He has literally gone off the balcony within hours of arriving in Thailand.

Who did he see, and what has happened, since arriving in Pattaya, until going off the balcony not long after.

What you say about alcohol etc. in Russia is correct. But to turn the question around, would a 41 year old man in Russia who witnessed a rape typically call his mother? I could envision someone delusional on drugs doing so but a sober adult man? And especially a doctor, wouldn't he feel the obligation to intervene or else immediately call the police? Sure, there could be more to the story but it is credible that he killed himself.

Are there any records of a tourist committing suicide the day they arrived in Thailand?

Based on recent records and media reports:

  • October 2025: A foreign man died by falling from a hotel in Bangkok’s Silom area less than four hours after checking in. He had arrived around noon and was found dead at 4:15 PM, with reports noting he appeared stressed and restless.

  • September 2025: A 21-year-old Moroccan woman died after falling from a hotel in Bangkok. She had checked into a fourth-floor room at 12:42 a.m. on the same day the incident was reported.

  • February 2019: A 44-year-old Russian tourist died after jumping from the fourth floor of Suvarnabhumi Airport shortly after passing through immigration, with police treating it as a suicide.

  • Suvarnabhumi Airport (November 2015): A 35-year-old British traveler, Edward Baker, committed suicide on his first day in the country after becoming "overwhelmed" and "severely anxious" by the environment. An inquest determined his mental state was exacerbated by jet lag, a lack of sleep, and the "hustle and bustle" of the airport.

Wow you jump to conclusions quickly by stating, "find out the facts and seek justice against those involved"

The way I read it, 1: your theory maybe correct, or 2: he accidentality fell from the balcony or 3: he jumped. But you chose theory "1" Mr Sherlock so please enlighten the audience as to how you reached this conclusion without taking into account option 2 or 3?

The report I read title said “Russian Doctor Found Murdered in Pattaya Hotel Room” and after reading the article no mention was mentioned of him falling or jumping from his balcony. My post was made before the additional report was added. So please accept this enlightenment as to how I came to my initial conclusion.

It is easier to close the case now fell from the hotel... No suspicious murder anymore but suicide. It shows how reliable the news is and the work of the RTP. Everything can change by the minute

It's you IKKE1959 who's distorting and misquoting...did you even read the article? The Police said NOTHING about suicide and are treating it as a suspicious death which is exactly what it is pending more information. The local news is a hell of a lot more reliable than you are.

Yes sure a hell of a lot reliable... They find him in a room and an update he is fallen from the 16th floor.... What to believe?? where was the body in the room or outside??

It got renamed as the FSB.

Case solved very quickly...expect zero updates!

So they found him dead IN the room....then found him again on the ground outside??:))) Hilarious !

i have a theory...The police attended the scene and found his batterd body in his room and decided that his family was probably wealthy and probably would come to Pattaya and demand a full investigation to find the murdrer. So the chief of police decided to get his boys to help him ( push him) over the bacony and the verdict ...death from fall ..brain injury....case closed and back to the station.

It did not. Changing the abbreviation doesn't mean that the essence has changed....

You are taking the article very literally, which is strange, give the big difference in reported events between the two articles.

There's no evidence any rape took place, but let's say it did. Within hours of stepping of the plane, he witnesses a rape, one must assume in a private place, so now he's a witness, and perhaps the rapist thinks he's got to be silenced, permanently.

I would be interested in any hypotheticals you can put forward as to how he came to witness a rape, only hours off the plane.

I still don't see the credibility you mention. Actually, completely the opposite.

All you have posted is, he witnessed a rape, which may or may not be true. He was on drugs, which there is no evidence to indicate this. He rang his mother and told her he witnessed a rape. Cased closed for you, but I don't buy it.

I'll give you these, but I don't call 2015 and 2019 "recent."

Well, if it was murder, and especially if the killer/s were non-Thai, the chances are 99 percent that they have long fled Thailand already, and most likely will get away with it.

As I said, IF it was murder.

If it was a murder, the motive would be interesting.

The changing story is a bit odd. But what do you expect from a Russian in Thailand?

Are you referring to the deceased Russian, or the Russians that killed him?

This is a very odd story, why did they change the original to a suicide jump from the balcony ? Russian mafia involved ?

More like Russian Embassy involved.

It looks like the original report was based on a Telegram post that contained speculation by the family, and this was picked up by the Russian press. The later report by the police could be more accurate, but the key issue is if someone pushed him off the balcony.

I think the point made earlier about Doctors having access to many better ways to kill yourself (I think medical professionals have a high 'successful' suicide rate due to their specialist knowledge) makes it much more likely he was pushed, in my view.

He might be referring to a "black Russian". Eve seen the movie "Nobody" The actor was Bob Odenkirk and named Hutch in this Great movie. A must watch.

Maybe it was these guys, on another mission. This time, in Thailand. 🙂

Very strange

It's possible it was the KGB

More likely similar to that Spanish doctor who was killed by his x boyfriend in a lovers quarrel
