Ghislaine Maxwell to Testify in Epstein Probe Before Congress!

Featured Replies

Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, is set to testify under oath before a congressional committee. Her testimony on February 9 will delve into the federal handling of Epstein-related cases, amid growing scrutiny of the Trump administration’s approach.

The deposition comes without legal immunity—a point of contention, as Maxwell's legal team asserts she’ll plead the Fifth Amendment to avoid self-incrimination. Her lawyers argue that testifying from prison poses security risks and compromises the process's integrity.

Despite being summoned by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Maxwell's attorneys claim this move is mere "political theater" and insist she'll remain silent unless granted immunity. They argue that forcing her to testify without protections would add nothing new to the investigation.

Maxwell, convicted in 2021, unsuccessfully appealed to the Supreme Court last year. Her chances for early release rely on a presidential pardon, although Trump has denied considering clemency—yet hasn't completely ruled it out.

Lawmakers continue pressing the Department of Justice to release all Epstein files, facing backlash over extensive redactions.

Meanwhile, the committee is also challenging former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton for not cooperating with the panel, hinting at possible contempt charges.

As the deadline for unveiling Epstein documents looms, questions surround the extent of Maxwell's potential revelations and their impact on the wider investigation into Epstein’s network and the involved high-profile figures.

Key Takeaways

  • Maxwell to testify under oath but plans to invoke Fifth Amendment protections.

  • Congressional scrutiny of Epstein case handling continues amid debate over transparency.

  • Maxwell's testimony could influence ongoing inquiries into Epstein's network.

Her pardon interview!

Very likely

Yeh, she might play her "trump card". She still knows where the black book is....

As far as I know she, an elderly lady, is the only to go to jail for Epstein's alleged misdemeanours. While Trump likes the company of well-developed mature women there will likely be others whose tastes are less conventional.

I rather thought that the whole matter hinged on the allegation that Trump liked and indulged in the company of very young and not "developed" women.

Incidentally, less of the "elderly " please, she is younger than me!

She served her time for her part.

Time to go after the real villains of the piece. Starting with the two Bills and Steve.

And Donald

Lets be clear. JohnnyF, based on his comment, takes a curiously liberal view of paedophiles and seems to believe people convicted of child sex trafficing offences should serve no more than 5 years in prison. The Judge, in sentencing, remarked:

"The evidence at trial established that Ms Maxwell directly and repeatedly and over the course of many years participated in a horrific scheme to entice, transport and traffic underage girls, some as young as 14, for sexual abuse by and with Jeffrey Epstein. I will pause on those words for a moment, 'by and with Epstein.' It is important at the outset to emphasize that although Epstein was, of course, central to this criminal scheme, Ms Maxwell is not being punished in place of Epstein or as a proxy for Epstein. Like every other participant in a multi-defendant case, Ms Maxwell is being punished for the role that she played in the criminal conduct. As to that role, the trial evidence established that Ms. Maxwell was instrumental in the abuse of several underage girls and that she herself participated in some of the abuse"

Virginia Roberts Giuffre posthumous description makes clear that Maxwell fully participated in the offences, and drew sexual gratification from them. Giuffre viewed Epstein and Maxwell "as two halves of a wicked whole". During the trial, victims, such as the woman called "Caroline" described how Maxwell was an active participant in the groomng of minors. Utterly disgusting behaviour. JohnnyF is fully aware of these descriptions when he remarks "She served her time for her part".

I assume JohnnyF is trying to deflect from accusations surrounding his heroes, by minimising the seriousness of paedophillia, and the guilt and role of Maxwell. Unpaid useful idiot, it seems.

Yes indeed, all of the MSM talk is about underage girls. The fact is that, to name but a few, Clinton, Andrew and Trump all like grown up girls. This whole thing is way off, being pushed by certain democratic journalists.

There are plenty of photographs in the public domaine which do rather suggest where his (Trrumps) tastes lie; not to mention some quotes from him which rather point in that direction.

Former MAGA leader Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized Donald Trump and the GOP on Wednesday, claiming they are enabling censorship of citizens posting about Jeffrey Epstein.

Greene warned on X that people are leaving the platform because “banning people’s speech is worse than spying on them.”
