More than 10 witnesses have come forward to provide statements in an investigation into allegations of physical assault and psychological abuse against former deputy police chief Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, authorities said. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) confirmed the testimonies could widen the scope of the inquiry and lead to further questioning of individuals who previously worked closely with him.

Investigators said the witnesses include officers who once lived or worked at Pol Gen Surachate’s residence and have contacted the CIB to express their willingness to testify. Their statements are expected to shed light on alleged incidents that occurred during the period they were under his supervision.

According to the CIB, all witnesses are police officers who served under Pol Gen Surachate in roles such as chauffeurs, security guards and property maintenance staff at his residence. Their close proximity to the former deputy chief is seen as significant in establishing what investigators described as potential patterns of behaviour over time.

Pol Maj Gen Jruykiat Pankaeo, deputy commissioner of the CIB, said all witnesses would be formally questioned. He explained that some claimed to have directly observed the alleged abuse, while others said they were informed of the incidents through firsthand accounts from colleagues who were involved.

The investigation follows criminal complaints filed earlier this week by two former subordinates, Pol Lt Col Krit Priyaket and Pol Col Aris Kuprasitrat. They accused Pol Gen Surachate of coercion, intimidation and physical assault, prompting the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) to take formal charge of the case.

The bullying allegations add to a series of legal and disciplinary challenges already facing Pol Gen Surachate. He was ordered dismissed from the police force in 2024 over alleged links to online gambling operations, marking a major turning point in his career.

In March 2025, a police disciplinary committee recommended he be dismissed without a pension, significantly escalating the penalties associated with the case. On Jan 9 this year, the Supreme Administrative Court dismissed his appeal against the 2024 dismissal order, effectively upholding his removal from the force.

Pol Gen Surachate has consistently denied all allegations, saying they were fabricated by rivals within the police force seeking to block his path to becoming police chief. Separately, he is also under investigation over alleged bribery involving gold bars worth 16 million baht reportedly delivered to a member of the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

Bangkokpost reported that authorities said continued witness questioning will determine whether formal charges related to the abuse allegations will be filed, potentially adding further legal pressure to the former deputy chief.

Key Takeaways

• More than 10 police officers have come forward as witnesses in an abuse investigation against Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn.

• Two former subordinates have lodged criminal complaints alleging coercion, intimidation and physical assault.

• The former deputy police chief faces multiple investigations following the Supreme Administrative Court’s decision to uphold his dismissal.

Think his days are numbered - I'm sure he's not whiter than white - he knows powerful people & probably during his time collected much information on them - it's the RTP!

Still odd only now the others coming forward - why not do it when serving - RTP previously said they wouldn't tolerate subordinates to any kind of mistreatment - the people that heard mistreating others that's just hearsay not proof - if have proof providing it then do it

I've always been 50/50 on big joke & yeah he actually do some good but it's the RTP which isn't particularly known for it's ethics - can't see him ever going to jail as too much info on too many people

When multiple witnesses come forward, it usually signals that authorities need to take the situation seriously and investigate thoroughly. Allegations involving senior officials can affect public trust if not handled transparently. It will be important to see whether the inquiry leads to clear findings and accountability, rather than speculation or prolonged uncertainty.

1) The physcial assault allegations are actionable. Are any of the victims owilling to go on the record and request prosecution? 2) The psychological abuse allegation are problematic. Fom what i have observed is what one expert calls abuse is not abuse to another expert. If indeed he is a problem child then puruse criminal prosecution against him for multiple counts of physical assault.

Interesting that all of a sudden out of the woodwork.....

Usually a sign of lawfare.

Strange he is still free. I would have thought senior officers would protect themselves with secret video and audio recordings but he seems not to have realized he would be stabbed in the back.

wow, if that aint abuse of ones position i dont know what is.

the criteria for becoming a lawnmower is now upgraded to being a copper.

He just doesn’t know how to shut his mouth and accept that he’s done. Move on!

Maybe he ordered his employees to do things they didn't want to or spoke rudely to them if they messed up. The complaints are pretty trivial. All the flies are buzzing around the living corpse to see what they can get. I wonder who is stirring them up?

I've always suspected that this guy was a big joke all along, and never bought into his Mr. Clean image, after all he was not only immigration chief but deputy director of the RTP and you don't get those positions by being straight, so it's likely the guy has billions socked away somewhere, and I'm finally glad that this guy is being taken down.

He needs to move abroad and enjoy his wife’s money, they have signaled if he plays the game, he is free to roam, rock the boat and he goes to jail.

Seems to me the 'forces' who have tried to block his career are still afraid of him gaining further rank / power and then taking action against the cops who tried to block him. Many of these 'blockers' are still active and seems they ar generating claims (maybe false claims / maybe new claims) that he's committed other offences, but even though this case has been going on for quite a few years suddenly there's some claims that he bullied other cops. Why hasn't this been highlighted before.

And it's been mentioned before his wife's family like him and welcome him and from early days welcomed him into their family. And he's never asked them for money.

Where has 'lawnmower' ever been mentioned?

Don't forget that the house is very large and is owned by his very wealthy wife, in thialnad especially there would be numerous 'maintenance' staff, the reports don't indicate that all the 'maintenance' staff were RTP staff.

Seems strange that after many years of various complaints against 'big joke' suddenly he's now accused of bullying. was this never mentioned before?
