Democrats have won two special elections for the Minnesota House of Representatives as the state reels from President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown.

Meg Luger-Nikolai, an attorney, won House District 64A on Tuesday with more than 95 percent of the vote, according to The Associated Press. Her Republican opponent Dan Walsh secured around 4.4 percent.

Why It Matters

The Democratic wins mean the Minnesota House of Representatives is restored to an even partisan split. The parties will now operate under a former power-sharing agreement.

Trump is going down hard, this is just the beginning of his downfall, he's taking the GOP down with him, and pretty soon he will just become an incredibly sad, overly pathetic, extremely toxic historical footnote, and the world will talk about him as if it was one of the great nightmares of recent history. Goodbye Don. You won't be missed. The world will celebrate your demise.

Republican quits Minnesota governor race, criticizing ICE surge

Jan 26 (Reuters) - Lawyer Chris Madel on Monday dropped out of the Republican race to be Minnesota's governor, denouncing what he said was a campaign of retribution against the state by federal authorities, after officers killed two U.S. citizens during clashes over tougher immigration enforcement.

The move was a sign of rising tension in President Donald Trump's Republican Party ahead of the November midterm elections over the immigration crackdown, which has led to repeated public clashes and the fatal Minnesota shootings of Renee Good on January 7 and Alex Pretti on Saturday. Both were 37.

Minnesota republicans would probably have better odds with the wood-chipper than in an election.

What a landslide! 2000 votes for her!

Unopposed and only 12% of voters voted.

LOL. Another topic that reminds me of the little kid in the bed at midnight repeating "there arent monsters, there arent monsters" while sucking his thumb.
