Retirement Visa to 60 Day Extension Based on Marriage

Featured Replies

As I'm married to a Thai does anyone know if it's possible for me to get a 60 day extension based on marriage?

I'm currently on a retirement visa and foolishly thought I had one 90 day report left before it expires.

I went to Jomtien and did the 90 day report and got a stamp saying come back in April.

Yesterday I double checked and realised I don't have 90 days as the visa expires on 12/02.

I was planning on heading back to the UK in a couple of months for an extended stay so was banking on having 90 days left but 60 days would work.

Should be possible if you've never gotten a 60-day extension since you started your non-O visa, and all subsequent extensions.

Keep in mind it is NOT a 60 day marriage extension it is a "visit thai family" extension and just so happens your thai family is your thai wife

GO to the immigration office bright and early Monday (the day your current extension expires) with your thai wife, her thai i/d, her house book listing, your TM30, the marriage certificates and ask them.

Worst they can say is no, and then they'll sell you a 7 day get out of thailand stamp for 1900baht that gives you a week to get out.. You could bounce/out back and come in free stamp for 60 days if that happens

This is the clause that allows it

This will be my first ever extension via marriage. I can't believe I messed up my 90 day report. We are moving house so I didn't pay enough attention to it as so many things going around on.
