Other Countries Require Citizenship Proof,Why Not SAVE Act?News

Featured Replies

So many obstacles(fake Id's, fraud etc),so many foreign nationals(millions) who aren't citizens. other countries require ID's to vote. Pro voter ID laws are essential to prevent voter fraud. The con from the left, strict voter ID laws disproportionately disenfranchise or burden eligible voters.

Need 60 votes in the Senate to pass, this won't happen .So why bother? Polls show 80% of Americans support photo ID requirements ,this could hurt Dems in messaging for 2026 midterms.

"The SAVE America Act would require individuals to present an eligible photo ID before voting, while also requiring proof of citizenship to be handed over in person when registering to vote and non-citizens to be removed from existing voter rolls".

Most other countries also require national identity cards which are issued to all citizens. Not varying standards which can make it difficult for lower income people to establish their identity.

Pro Voter integrity shames those blue states and a small contingent of countries that don't require ID .

"Americans keep hearing that there is no need to protect against vote fraud, that fraud is either non-existent or extremely rare. We hear that regulations, such as photo voter IDs, are unnecessary and will disenfranchise voters. Yet, the United States is not unique in having this debate. Virtually all of Europe and almost all developed countries require in-person voters to use photo IDs to vote".

Real ID in the US has become a de facto national identity card. It should be mandated at large, just as Thailand has a national ID. Even people with hardly any education in my wife's village in Thailand are able to master obtaining an ID. People in the US, where universal education, primary through high school, has been mandatory for quite some time should be able to manage it as well.

Non-citizens are eligible for Real ID licenses and state IDs, they just need to supply proof of lawful residence, not citizenship.

Enhanced licenses and state IDs require citizenship, but only five states issue them.

But requiring an ID that carries a fee is a form of poll tax. Here's an article that discusses this:

The left wants to treat my country like its a third world country while every citizen living in a civilized country in the world has some sort of ID.

google ai overview:

"National ID Systems: Over 100 countries have mandatory national identity cards.

Purpose of ID: These documents are essential for banking, voting, travel, employment, and accessing government benefits".
