A 24-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Sing Buri province after intervening in a dispute over a 1,000-baht loan taken out by his mother, police said. The victim died from a neck wound while being rushed to hospital on the evening of 30 January 2026, prompting a police investigation and criminal proceedings against the suspect.

Police at In Buri Hospital notified investigators that a stabbing victim had died during transfer for emergency treatment. Officers later identified the deceased as Mr Thiraphat aged 24, who suffered a sharp-force injury to the right side of his neck. The alleged attacker, Mr Supachok, aged 22, later surrendered at In Buri Police Station with a sharpened digging iron believed to be the weapon used.

According to police, the incident occurred at a house in Village 5, Chee Nam Rai subdistrict, In Buri district, Sing Buri. Bloodstains were found on the floor of the house and on the clothing of the victim’s parents during a scene examination conducted by officers. Investigators confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody for further legal proceedings.

The background to the dispute centres on a 1,000-baht loan borrowed by the victim’s mother from the suspect’s grandmother. The suspect reportedly went to demand repayment, after which the victim raised money to settle the debt on his mother’s behalf. Despite the repayment, tensions continued, with repeated confrontations and verbal challenges between the two young men.

On the day of the incident, the victim reportedly went to speak with the suspect again. A physical altercation followed, escalating into a struggle. During the scuffle, the suspect allegedly used a sharpened digging iron to stab the victim, causing fatal injuries.

Mr Kritsana, the victim’s father, told police that his son had tried to resolve the matter peacefully by paying the debt. He said the situation deteriorated due to ongoing provocation, culminating in violence during the latest confrontation. Police recorded his statement as part of the investigation.

Khoasod reported that authorities said the suspect voluntarily surrendered after the incident and handed over the weapon. Police are proceeding with charges in accordance with the law while continuing to gather evidence and witness statements. Further legal steps will follow as the case moves through the justice system.

The loan was repaid. The "pathetic puke" kept on after the debt was repaid and his talk had to be dealt with.
