Camper killed after wild elephant attack at Khao Yai

A 69-year-old man was killed on February 2 after a wild elephant attacked him while he was camping with friends at Khao Yai National Park. Reports said he left his tent early for a short walk near the campsite in Wang Nam Khiao district and encountered a male elephant known to roam outside park boundaries. Witnesses in nearby tents saw the incident but were too frightened to step in. Park officers and police arrived soon after and managed to drive the elephant away from the area. No other campers were reported injured.
