Global Order in Crisis: Germany's Stark Warning at Security Summit

One of the pivotal reasons for forming the UN (and perhaps more importantly the morphing of the European Common Market into the EU) was to help prevent the rising of a future German fourth Reich. That's why billions were devoted to rebuilding a post WWII Germany making them the powerhouse of Europe. While Britain had to pay their full debt for the cost of the war back to America.

The general theory being that if Germany was allowed to prosper through industry and become the ersatz economic rulers of Europe, they wouldn't need to build Panzers and Messerschmitts and roll across their borders again.

Angela Merkel lost the plot and drove Germany off the economic cliff (immigration, climate, anti-nuclear), resulting in the flatlining of their economy in recent years, and a far cry from what it was as the dominant European economy only a few short years ago. When things go to hell in a handcart, they tend to go at terminal velocity.

The way Germany is talking now, I think they want to go three for three. That's not to say many other European countries wouldn't be very welcoming of a widespread kinetic war - some might say it's actually already happening and this is our 1933-39/2020-2026

Nothing like a war to raise a feeling of psuedo-patriotism, enforce rationing of everything from food to travel, enforce speech control, unload a plethora of pesky troublesome white males on the battlefield, and blame a war for the impending and unavoidable austerity caused by 50 years of bad management and allowing fools and imbeciles to run the world.

History inevitably repeats itself. But we never learn.
