By now, the video has gone viral with Trump asking a simple question:

“If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal immigrants.”

Winner.

Oh, if the criminals do business with Trump, even if they launder money for Hamas, or are rich, even if they run 400 tonnes of cocaine into the US, or if they beat cops and try to hang the Vice President in Trump's name, then hurting any American citizen is okay.

I agree the midterms are decided. The special elections in the last few months portend a Blue Tsunami, with Dems taking back the House and the Senate, and acting again like the Legislative Branch laid down by the Founders. Lame Duck Donny.

If most Americans shared your predilections you'd be making an excellent point. As it stands, all you're doing is projecting.

And what happened to the unanimous narrative of the fora's woke contingent who assured us there would be no more elections if Trump won in 2024? How can an entire political side get EVERYTHING wrong and call the side that calmly dealt in fact a "cult"?

All aged well didn't it?🤣

Maybe the response can be built around incidents like this.

How immigration agents are using a once-obscure law to detain US citizens

Feb 19, 2026 -- A CNN review of federal court records found that the Trump administration has dramatically expanded the use of the statute. Federal prosecutors in areas that have seen intense protests – the four districts covering Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Portland – charged about 12 times as many people under the statute in the first year of the Trump administration as they did in the last year of the Biden administration.

But these charges have often fallen apart under scrutiny, CNN found.

In Los Angeles, all five of the prosecutions under the statute that have gone to trial since last summer have resulted in an acquittal. Many cases that didn’t go to trial there and in Chicago have been dismissed, ended in a plea deal or only resulted in a civil citation with a fine, while others are still pending.

Still a lot of politic -in goin on till November. The Approval ratings from a month ago don't mean much and anything can happen . That stand up if you support ..."If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support: The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens". was a barn burner.

"29% of Americans have a very or somewhat favorable view of Democrats in Congress, and 62% have an unfavorable view, for a net favorability of -33

I hate to break it to you:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

You arent the judge. The voters are.

The Maga for Dummies speech.

I'm not hearing this from any pundits but I did watch the whole longest state of the union speech in history and had a feeling this was his LAST one.

Sorry for pointing out that the oath of office doesn’t include any ‘first duty to protect American citizens’

More troubling for your earlier laughably false statement is this from the oath of commission administered to Officers in the U.S. Military:

I ___, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

If the military swear an oath to defend the Constitution against ‘foreign and domestic enemies

Then your claim that “The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal immigrants.” is demonstrated to be utter hogwash.

No oath of office includes defending American citizens against anything.

That sleazy bit of stand/don't stand political theater was very Trumpian, but there is no way that it decides the midterms.

Trump and the maga fascists know that if there are fair elections they will lose miserably, the house massively, the senate maybe.

They know the enthusiasm to vote at all is very high for democrats, very low for republicans, and that independents have turned dramatically against Trump.

So really (and correctly) the only realistic chance Trump has to stop this is vote suppression. We know already that he doesn't care at all about the rule of law and the constitution regarding elections. So cornered and desperate as he is, unfortunately he is capable of ANYTHING.

Also to emphasize, whether voters like the democratic party message whatever it is or not, is of very little consequence. Midterms are ALWAYS a referendum on the sitting (in this case sleeping) president. That's damning for Trump again IF there are real elections and IF the results are honored by the maga fascist party in power.

Be worried.

You cannot show where due process requires a Judicial arrest warrant for immigration violations

You are absolutely correct. Trump’s actions in 2016 and 2024 systematically suppressed the vote, denying us the opportunity to be led by my precious Hillary and Kamala. This undermined the democratic process and robbed us of the leadership we deserved.

So what's your point?

Your point is not merely a point; it is the mother of all points, the primordial dot from which every other point dares to emerge. It looms over the day, towering above lesser points, declaring itself the largest point of the day, perhaps even of the week, if not of time itself. And why is it the largest point? Because the entire exercise—the discussion, the debate, the endless orbiting around meaning—exists solely to make a point. Not to resolve it, not to sharpen it, not even to understand it, but simply to have a point at all. Thus the point makes itself by pointing to its own point-ness. It insists upon itself, repeating until repetition becomes substance. The act of making the point becomes the point, and the point, having been made, retroactively justifies the making of it. In the end, nothing moves forward, nothing is clarified, yet the point stands proudly, swollen with significance, congratulating itself for having successfully pointed—at absolutely nothing in particular.

Yes, Harry Enten is an excitable character, but the news from the early voting in the Texas primaries are quite astonishing!

"At this point, the share of midterm primary ballots from Democrats is 53%. Republicans account for the other 47%. This shows a major difference just from 2022, when 38% of ballots at this point were from Democrats, and 62% were from Republicans."
