Just how completely geriatric is TV, anyway?

Care to guess?

I would say the average age of TV members is about 95, if you include the dead ones that are still lurking around here.

Wouldn't you?

How many TV members are now pushing up daises, these days, anyway?

I have no bias against old people, particularly.

Do you?

Because, if you did, you might not be here.

Of course, just like on TV, the same thing is happening in Japan....

And, very soon, TV might be filled with dolls....just like in some Japanese villages where, as you know....

The young have become old and decrepit, and never go out....and so.....

When you visit these villages, all you see is hundreds of dolls, but no real people.

When I think of TV members, then I think of this image of old men, who are so old, that they have been replaced.

On TV, old men are just too old to stand on their own....and instead....

Must have Doll-Stand-Ins...lest the old men on TV....

Just HOW MUCH OLDER can the old men get before TV will no-longer be able to....

I can't remember exactly, It was quoted by one of the mods a few months ago, average age of Asean Now member was 45 to 54yo if I remember.

I read so much hate towards the Thai's here.

Must be miserable for some living here, i supposed most of these anti Thai people are poor, living with an ex bar girl, now they are both elderly and miserable.

I'm mid 50s and it often feels like I'm one of the young guys around here so, yeah, the average age is probably mid 60s, at a guess, maybe higher.

Probably, very few guys less than 95 will recall how difficult it once was to hear Jimi's music on the internet.

There were very bad vibes, long ago, regarding more free use of his music, and who knows why the estate acted as it did.

That was a very bad time for great music.

You do realise that many of the hateful posts come from you, don't you?

There are all sorts of strange people here, including your good self. Often ranting against foreigners and anyone who doesn't agree wholeheartedly with you. Change the tune a little bit. Not all of the older guys here are miserable. Neither are they they foreigners you purport to hate. It seems it is just a hateful world that you have created for yourself, perhaps because you don't make friends with your peers so easily.

On some things I might have actually agreed with you, but then you add such an unpleasant comment, that it ruins the positivity of the original comment. Dial it back a bit.

You've formulated a theory about people you imagine to hate you. You had to have taken a bit of time to have put that all together.

Not just that, but you appear to express really strong feelings about it.

If you are happy in your successful life, then why are you making yourself unhappy using your time creating theories about these people? Why not just live your life? You have to expect that grumpy guys are going to be grumpy. They have poor and difficult lives.

Assuming most here are grumpy is just that. You don't know anyone here so can't assume what's going on in their lives or how they live. Most who live here are married to regular Thai women and not bar girls. Most aren't bitter but content. Some, like myself, along with my daughter, don't belong here as it's not a good fit, but the country isn't the problem but some of the things here are, especially for girls.

You fail to see how you appear to the members here. You sound bitter yourself, constantly saying foreigners are just as you've described, thinking most are the same because some of the tourists act like morons, and failing to understand most of the problems in this country are Thai related and not foreigners, especially those who live here full time.

I understand everything. You're still missing the point of how you sound here. Interacting with members here isn't a problem. Labeling foreigners as you do is. I've been observing all along, and what I and others obviously see, is that with most of your replies comes a shot towards foreigners, which isn't necessary and sometimes plain doesn't fit.

You have a good reputation score here, which means something. Leave out the shots at foreigners, which are out of place as most foreigners here aren't a problem.

You can see I'm not near the only one who notices this. You aren't the only one acting prejudice towards foreigners as there are quite a few who dislike Brits, Indians, Americans, Asians, Russians et al, but only a couple who put down all foreigners, and you're one. Not easy to understand why.

They might be silent, loners, not friendly but they aren't causing others problems. Some tourists, from all countries that visit, do cause problems, but it's not the residents or the rest of the foreign tourist's fault. Easy to look back at your replies on the forum. See how many don't have that shot at foreigners.

For the OP, from listening to the members here since my beginning, I would think most are 60-75, retired, maybe more than half married, the others living here in tourist areas enjoying what's offered. Smaller segment 40-60, another 75-90.
